Atrial Fibroblasts‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Exacerbate Atrial Arrhythmogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exosome miR‐224‐5p derived from angiotensin II‐treated atrial fibroblasts creates a substrate for AF by promoting atrial electrical remodeling. Increased exosome miR‐224‐5p enhances AF susceptibility by inhibiting CACNA1c expression and decreasing ICa current of atrial cardiomyocytes.

Mechanobiology of adipocytes

open access: yes, 2019
The expansion of visceral adipose tissue (VAT) is considered to be the most life-threatening form of obesity. It is highly correlated with the risk of developing metabolic complications such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and hypertriglyceridemia. VAT is confined in the abdominal space where it experiences compressive stresses.

Targeting Seipin to Alleviate Hepatic Steatosis in Zebrafish (Danio Rerio)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Seipin plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism. Seipin overexpression ameliorates high‐fat‐diet‐induced hepatic steatosis and enhances growth in zebrafish. Mechanistically, Seipin interacts with Plin2 to promote Plin2 degradation and enhances phosphatidylcholine synthesis via Seipin/CCTα/CHPT interactions.

POSTN‐Mediated Interplay of M1 Polarized Macrophage with Tendon‐Derived Stem Cells to Drive Traumatic Heterotopic Ossification Formation through PTK7/ATK Signaling?

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanism diagram reveals that the formation of trauma‐induced heterotopic ossification (HO) is accompanied by the polarization of macrophages toward the M1 phenotype. Additionally, the extracellular vesicles secreted by M1 macrophages, which contain periostin (POSTN), directly bind to PTK7 in tendon‐derived stem cells (TDSCs).
