Lactate Drives Pathological Browning of White Adipose Tissue to Aggravate Sepsis‐Associated Metabolic Disorders in a GPR81‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sepsis‐triggered lactate accumulation induces pathological white adipose tissue browning. Lactate activates adipocyte GPR81 to sequentially upregulate CTRP6‐p38 signalling and UCP1 expression. This cascade exacerbates sepsis‐associated metabolic disorders.

Id4, a new candidate gene for senile osteoporosis, acts as a molecular switch promoting osteoblast differentiation.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2010
Excessive accumulation of bone marrow adipocytes observed in senile osteoporosis or age-related osteopenia is caused by the unbalanced differentiation of MSCs into bone marrow adipocytes or osteoblasts. Several transcription factors are known to regulate

RUNX1‐Mediated Hypoxic Signaling Impairs Myogenesis and Promotes Fibrosis in Myopathies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Myofiber overgrowth was associated with reduced blood flow and a potential hypoxic state in broiler breast muscle, accompanied by increased RUNX1 expression. Elevated RUNX1 impaired myogenic regeneration, promoted fibrosis, and disrupted the signaling niche required for efficient muscle repair, contributing to pathological degeneration in Wooden Breast

Single‐Nucleus RNA Sequencing Identifies CREM as a Brake on Myofiber Hypertrophy in Chickens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing on 91 144 nuclei from postnatal chicken pectoralis major between fast‐growing broilers (FG) and slow‐growing layers (SG) identifies the transcriptional factor CREM as a novel brake of myofiber hypertrophy. Mechanistically, functional validation experiments confirm that CREM activates the promoter of JUN and CREM deletion ...

Effect of DHCR7 on adipocyte differentiation in goats

open access: yesAnimal Biotechnology
Cholesterol is regarded as a signaling molecule in regulating the metabolism and function of fat cells, in which 7-Dehydrocholesterol reductase (DHCR7) is a key enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of 7-dehydrocholesterol to cholesterol, however, the ...

Reactive oxygen species mediate adipocyte differentiation in mesenchymal stem cells

open access: yes, 2019
Aims: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) have the potential to differentiate into various cell lineages, including adipocytes and osteoblasts. The formation of adipose tissue involves the commitment of MSC to the preadipocyte lineage and the differentiation of

A Bi‐Adjuvant Senolytic Nanovaccine Modulating Dendritic Cell Senescence Ameliorates Aging‐Related Metabolic Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An active biomaterial‐based bi‐adjuvant nanovaccine restores the immunocompetence of aged dendritic cells to overcome senescent cell tolerance. Accompanied by the downregulation of mitotic kinases Aurka/b and attenuation of senescence‐associated PI3K/AKT phosphorylation, the nanovaccine enhances antigen‐presenting capacity and promotes potent cytotoxic

Hypoxia induces adipocyte differentiation of adipose-derived stem cells by triggering reactive oxygen species generation

open access: yes, 2014
Generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by NADPH oxidase 4 (Nox4) induces the proliferation and migration of adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs). However, the functional role of mitochondrial ROS (mtROS) generation in ASCs is unknown.

A UBE3A‐UTX Proteostasis‐Epigenetic Axis Governs Hypothalamic Energy Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ubiquitin protein ligase E3A (UBE3A) regulates hypothalamic energy homeostasis and promotes degradation of the histone demethylase UTX (KDM6A). Neuronal UBE3A loss increases susceptibility to diet‐induced obesity and is accompanied by UTX accumulation, reduced histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation, and altered endoplasmic reticulum stress‐responsive gene

c-Jun regulates adipocyte differentiation via the KLF15-mediated mode

open access: yes, 2016
Abnormal adipocyte differentiation is implicated in the development of metabolic disorders such as obesity and type II diabetes. Thus, an in-depth understanding of the molecular mechanisms associated with adipocyte differentiation is the first step in ...
