CAMKIIδ Reinforces Lipid Metabolism and Promotes the Development of B Cell Lymphoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 10, March 13, 2025.
Researchers have revealed a new role for the protein CAMKIIδ in promoting the development of B cell lymphomas (BCL) by boosting lipid metabolism and energy production in lymphoma cells. Furthermore, they have discovered that tetrandrine can potentially inhibit CAMKIIδ, thereby reducing the burden of lymphoma.

Lipid Histiocytosis of the Gallbladder Neck Lymph Node

open access: yesCase Reports in Pathology, 2016
Lipid histiocytosis of the gallbladder neck lymph node is rarely reported nowadays. Two obese patients presented with gallbladder lithiasis detected on CT scan. The treatment consisted in coelioscopic cholecystectomy. Microscopy revealed subacute/chronic

Identification of the Heptapeptide PR7 and Octapeptide SF8 With Potent Antioxidative and Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitory Activity From the Fermented Dairy By‐Product “Buttermilk”

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 6, Issue 2, Page 837-851, March 2025.
• Fermented buttermilk is a source of unique bioactive peptides. The peptide PR7 exerted comparable antioxidative activity to ascorbic acid, while the peptide SF8 efficiently inhibited ACE with an IC50 value of 1.57 µM. The estimated MM‐GBSA/MD binding energies correlated with the detected IC50 values ABSTRACT The present study aimed to identify ...

HIF1α Plays a Crucial Role in the Development of TFE3–Rearranged Renal Cell Carcinoma by Orchestrating a Metabolic Shift Toward Fatty Acid Synthesis

open access: yesGenes to Cells, Volume 30, Issue 1, January 2025.
This graphical abstract illustrates the key metabolic changes in TFE3–rearranged renal cell carcinoma (TFE3‐RCC). The PRCC‐TFE3 fusion protein upregulates HIF1α, leading to enhanced glycolysis and lipid synthesis through SREBP1 activation. This metabolic shift, characterized by increased glucose uptake, fatty acid synthesis, and reduced ketogenesis ...

Use of Adipophilin and Perilipin to Determine Fat Deposition in Renal and Hepatic Tissue in Mice Overexpressing CTRP3

open access: yes, 2023
Studies have shown that overexpression of C1q TNF-related protein-3 (CTRP3) in mice fed a high alcohol diet can protect the animal from developing alcoholic fatty liver disease (ALD).

Solitary Polypoid Laryngeal Xanthoma

open access: yesCase Reports in Otolaryngology, 2013
We report the case of a 51-year-old male smoker with diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidaemia and a long history of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection treated with various antiretroviral regimes, who was referred to the ...

ADRP/adipophilin is degraded through the proteasome-dependent pathway during regression of lipid-storing cells

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2006
Adipose differentiation-related protein (ADRP) is a major protein associated with lipid droplets in various types of cells, including macrophage-derived foam cells and liver cells. However, the role of ADRP in the processes of formation and regression of

Expression of constitutively activated Akt in the mammary gland leads to excess lipid synthesis during pregnancy and lactation

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2003
Expression of constitutively activated Akt in the mammary glands of transgenic mice results in a delay in post-lactational involution. We now report precocious lipid accumulation in the alveolar epithelium of mouse mammary tumor virus-myr-Akt transgenic ...

Laser scanning microscopy showing comparison of vimentin and adipophilin antibodies in AIM-stimulated compared to AIM-stimulated plus shortly OA-treated human preadipocytes.

open access: yes, 2014
(a) With short AIM stimulation for one day many tiny LDs positively stained for adipophilin can still be seen within the dense vimentin meshwork. (a) Additional short OA treatment for 3 hours immediately leads to exogenously derived, larger adipophilin ...

Lipid Droplet Accumulation and Impaired Fat Efflux in Polarized Hepatic Cells: Consequences of Ethanol Metabolism

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hepatology, 2012
Steatosis, an early manifestation in alcoholic liver disease, is associated with the accumulation of hepatocellular lipid droplets (LDs). However, the role ethanol metabolism has in LD formation and turnover remains undefined.
