Abstract Estimating the genetic variation underpinning a trait is crucial to understanding and predicting its evolution. A key statistical tool to estimate this variation is the animal model. Typically, the environment is modelled as an external variable independent of the organism, affecting the focal phenotypic trait via phenotypic plasticity.

This study highlights the emergent properties associated with mixing two‐species, which result in resource efficient and temporally stable production systems. We reveal the negative impact of mean temperature on temporal stability of forest productivity and how the stabilizing effect of mixing two species can counterbalance this impact.

Background – Because of the increased incidence of multidrug‐resistant (MDR) bacteria, the use of disinfectants over antibiotics has been encouraged. However, the interactions between disinfectants and host local immunity are poorly understood. Objective – To assess the effects of chlorhexidine digluconate (Chx), with and without selected host defence ...

A multispecies assessment of wildlife impacts on local community livelihoods
Abstract Conflicts between the interests of agriculture and wildlife conservation are a major threat to biodiversity and human well‐being globally. Addressing such conflicts requires a thorough understanding of the impacts associated with living alongside protected wildlife.
