Effect of homo-and hetero-fermentative lactic acid bacteria on yeast community during the aerobic exposure process of sudangrass silage

open access: yesSiliao yanjiu, 2021
The experiment studied the effect of homo-and hetero-fermentative lactic acid bacteria addition on the fermentation quality and the dynamics of yeast community during aerobic exposure to Sultanas silage.

The Quality characteristics of haylage from forage grasses of tropical pastures: losses, gas production, nutritional value, microbial population and organic acids

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias
Tropical pastures have been little explored for haylage, due to the lack of information on nutritional quality. This study aimed to evaluate the fermentation quality of different genotypes of forage grasses from tropical pastures in the form of haylage.

Effect of applying lactobacillus plantarum and pediococcus acidilactici isolated on fermentation dynamics, microbial community and aerobic stability of napier grass (pennisetum purpureum) silage [PDF]

open access: yesKafkas Universitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dergisi, 2018
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of applying three of lactic acid bacteria isolates AZZ1, AZZ4, AZZ7 and one commercial (CB) on the fermentation dynamics and aerobic stability of Napier grass silage. The grass was ensiled with or without

Compaction, aeration and addition of mycotoxin contaminated silage alters the fermentation profile, mycotoxin content and aerobic stability of ryegrass (Lolium perenne) silage

open access: yesFrontiers in Agronomy, 2023
This study investigated the effect of compaction, aeration and addition of a naturally mycotoxin contaminated ryegrass silage (MCS) containing 1803 µg/kg DM penicillic acid, on the nutritional value and mycotoxin content after ensiling and subsequent ...

Fermentation Quality and Aerobic Stability Evaluation of Rice Straw Silage with Different Ensiling Densities

open access: yesFermentation, 2023
Ensiling density has significant importance for the quality and preservation of silage. Appropriate ensiling density could improve the nutritional value, extend the storage time of silage and reduce the risk of mold and spoilage.

Effectiveness of Resistance Intradialytic Exercise Compared to Aerobic Intradialytic Exercise for Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Chemical and microbial additives improve stability and fermentation of corn grain silage rehydrated with wet orange pulp [PDF]

open access: yesScientia Agricola
: The combined use of wet pulp orange (WPO) with rehydrated ground corn grain (GCG) in silages presents as a feasible approach; however, the low aerobic stability of WPO could compromise silage quality.

The effects of temperature on the aerobic stability of wheat and corn silages

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2002
The aim of this work was to study the effects of temperature on the aerobic stability of wheat and corn silages. Three silage samples from each crop were taken from the faces of six different commercial bunker silos immediately after unloading them. The samples were exposed to air for 3 or 6 days at 10, 20, 30 or 40 degrees C.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

AscF in the mycobacterial CIII–CIV supercomplex lacks metal and nucleotide binding but links malate oxidation to respiration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...
