The T790M mutation in EGFR kinase causes drug resistance by increasing the affinity for ATP
Lung cancers caused by activating mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) are initially responsive to small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), but the efficacy of these agents is often limited because of the emergence of drug ...

Deep Affinity Network for Multiple Object Tracking [PDF]
Multiple Object Tracking (MOT) plays an important role in solving many fundamental problems in video analysis and computer vision. Most MOT methods employ two steps: Object Detection and Data Association.

Cortical development of AMPA receptor trafficking proteins
AMPA-receptor trafficking plays a central role in excitatory plasticity, especially during development. Changes in the number of AMPA receptors and time spent at the synaptic surface are important factors of plasticity that directly affect long-term ...

Discovery of circulating proteins associated to knee radiographic osteoarthritis
Currently there are no sufficiently sensitive biomarkers able to reflect changes in joint remodelling during osteoarthritis (OA). In this work, we took an affinity proteomic approach to profile serum samples for proteins that could serve as indicators ...

Affinely regular polygons in an affine plane
In this paper we survey results about affinely regular polygons. First, the definitions and classification of affinely regular polygons are given. Then the theory of Bachmann-Schmidt is outlined. There are several classical theorems about regular polygons, some of them having analogues in finite planes, such as the Napoleon-Barlotti theorem.

Binding Affinity via Docking: Fact and Fiction
In 1982, Kuntz et al. published an article with the title “A Geometric Approach to Macromolecule-Ligand Interactions”, where they described a method “to explore geometrically feasible alignment of ligands and receptors of known structure”.

Extreme disorder in an ultra-high-affinity protein complex
Molecular communication in biology is mediated by protein interactions. According to the current paradigm, the specificity and affinity required for these interactions are encoded in the precise complementarity of binding interfaces.
