The inclusion of toxic adsorbent compounds can reduce the negative effects caused by the presence of Aflatoxin B1 and Ochratoxin A. Saffron petal extract can be used to potentially modulate the contaminated diets with Aflatoxin B1 and Ochratoxin A, best achieved with 750 mg/kg of saffron petal extract along with 0.1% yeast cell wall and 1% processed ...

Aflatoxins are a toxic secondary metabolite, mainly produced by the fungi Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus. Aflatoxin contamination of food is a global concern, as they are carcinogenic, mutagenic and teratogenic. Groundnuts and maize products are highly susceptible to aflatoxin contamination at both pre‐ and postharvest stages; this leads to a ...

Aflatoxicosis and Bruising in the Chicken
Abstract INTRODUCTION THE study of mycotoxicoses in this country was initiated mainly by Forgacs and Carll (1962) who investigated a hemorrhagic anemia syndrome in poultry which they equated to a moldy feed toxicosis. This syndrome was characterized by extensive hemorrhaging in the musculature and internal organs and by aplastic anemia.

This study finds that nearly 40% of participants were exposed to low levels of aflatoxin B1, which was not associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. It underscores the necessity for further studies to explore the underlying mechanisms and effects of aflatoxin exposure on pregnancy.

Experimental Aflatoxicosis in Young Japanese Quail ,
Japanese quail from the university colony fed graded levels of dietary aflatoxin (0, 1.25, 2.5, 5.0, 10.0, and 20.0 micrograms/g) from hatching to 4 weeks of age were comparatively resistant to aflatoxin as growth inhibition occurred at a dose of 5.0 micrograms/g or more as about 50% mortality occurred at a dose of 20 micrograms/g.
