Soy 11S Globulin Acid Subunits as the Novel Food Polymer Carrier

open access: yesInternational Journal of Polymer Science, 2015
Aflatoxins were conjugated with soy 11S globulins acid subunits and the hapten-specific monoclonal antibodies (McAbs) cross-reactive with four major aflatoxins were achieved ...

Detection of Total Aflatoxins in Groundnut and Soybean Samples in Yemen Using Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay

open access: yesJournal of Food Quality, 2019
Aflatoxins are fungal toxins that have mutagenic and carcinogenic effects, especially hepatocellular carcinoma effect. This work aimed to investigate the presence of aflatoxins in groundnuts and soybeans that are consumed in Yemen.

Preparation of an Immunoaffinity Column with Amino-Silica Gel Microparticles and Its Application in Sample Cleanup for Aflatoxin Detection in Agri-Products

open access: yesMolecules, 2013
This study established an immunoaffinity column for selective extraction of aflatoxins in agri-products. Specifically, the immunoaffinity column was developed by covalently coupling monoclonal antibody 1C11 against aflatoxins to amino-silica gel ...

Occurrence and exposure assessment to aflatoxins in peanuts commercialized in the northwest of Parana, Brazil

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2018
: Peanuts are a nutritious food consumed worldwide. Some species of the genus Aspergillus, producers of aflatoxins, colonize peanuts. Human exposure to aflatoxins occurs by ingesting contaminated foods.

The Occurrence of Aflatoxins in Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) Worldwide

open access: yesJournal of Food Quality, 2022
Due to global warming, the risk of aflatoxins exposure through the consumption of contaminated food has increased. Aflatoxins pose serious health hazards to humans’ and animals’ health because of their carcinogenic, mutagenic, and teratogenic properties ...

The Biosynthesis, Structure Diversity and Bioactivity of Sterigmatocystins and Aflatoxins: A Review

open access: yesJournal of Fungi
Sterigmatocystins and aflatoxins are a group of mycotoxins mainly isolated from fungi of the genera Aspergillus. Since the discovery of sterigmatocystins in 1954 and aflatoxins in 1961, many scholars have conducted a series of studies on their structural

A study on non-destructive method for detecting Toxin in pepper using Neural networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Mycotoxin contamination in certain agricultural systems have been a serious concern for human and animal health. Mycotoxins are toxic substances produced mostly as secondary metabolites by fungi that grow on seeds and feed in the field, or in storage.

Aflatoxins in foods

open access: yesItalian Journal of Public Health, 2007
Aflatoxins are mycotoxins produced by Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus. The aflatoxin group is comprised of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), B2, G1 and G2. In addition, aflatoxin M1 (AFM1), a hydroxylated metabolite of AFB1, is excreted in the milk of dairy cows consuming an AFB1-contaminated ration.

A survey of aflatoxin B1 in maize and awareness of aflatoxins in Vietnam [PDF]

open access: yesWorld Mycotoxin Journal, 2017
Vietnam is a tropical country with high temperature and precipitation, which may provide good conditions for fungal growth. A few limited studies have been conducted to evaluate the level of aflatoxin B1 in maize in Vietnam. In addition, no studies have been conducted to evaluate the perception and knowledge of aflatoxins in Vietnam.

A Lateral Flow Strip Based on a Truncated Aptamer-Complementary Strand for Detection of Type-B Aflatoxins in Nuts and Dried Figs

open access: yesToxins, 2020
Type-B aflatoxins (AFB1 and AFB2) frequently contaminate food, especially nuts and fried figs, and seriously threaten human health; hence, it is necessary for the newly rapid and sensitive detection methods to prevent the consumption of potentially ...
