ATG-anchored AFLP (ATG-AFLP) analysis in cotton

Plant Cell Reports, 2008
Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) marker system has had broad applications in biology. However, the anonymous AFLP markers are mainly amplified from non-coding regions, limiting their usefulness as a functional marker system. To take advantages of the traditional AFLP techniques, we propose substitution of a restriction enzyme that ...

AFLP runner (AR): A software for prediction and analysis Of AFLP

2010 3rd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics, 2010
AFLP is a PCR-based tool used in genetics research and DNA fingerprinting. Predicting the result and selecting the right primers play key roles in AFLP. Software called AFLP Runner (AR) was developed for AFLP predicting and analyzing. AR is a software based KMP algorithm for finding restriction enzyme cutting site sequence in genome. AR can be used for

Use of AFLP in cereals research

Trends in Plant Science, 1999

Development of AFLP markers in barley

Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1997
To investigate the application of amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers in barley, 96 primer combinations were used to generate AFLP patterns with two barley lines, L94 and Vada. With seven primer combinations, only a few intense bands were obtained, probably derived from repeated sequences.

AFLP fingerprinting of the human genome

Human Genetics, 2001
Elucidation of the genetic basis of complex traits and diseases in humans includes the use of genome-wide association studies that depend on the analysis of a large number of diallelic markers. We describe the application of the amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) technique as an efficient approach for rapidly identifying and scoring multiple

AFLP-based transcript profiling (cDNA-AFLP) for genome-wide expression analysis

Nature Protocols, 2007
Although DNA microarrays are currently the standard tool for genome-wide expression analysis, their application is limited to organisms for which the complete genome sequence or large collections of known transcript sequences are available. Here, we describe a protocol for cDNA-AFLP, an AFLP-based transcript profiling method that allows genome-wide ...

AFLP‐RGA Markers in Comparison with RGA and AFLP in Cultivated Tetraploid Cotton

Crop Science, 2007
ABSTRACTDisease resistance (R) genes have been isolated from many plant species and R genes with domains of nucleotide binding sites (NBS) and leucine‐rich repeats (LRR) represent the largest R gene family. The objective of this investigation was to test a resistance gene analog (RGA) anchored marker system, called amplified fragment length ...

Two high-density AFLP® linkage maps of Zea mays L.: analysis of distribution of AFLP markers

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Genetics, 1999
This study demonstrates the relative ease of generating high-density linkage maps using the AFLP(R) technology. Two high-density AFLP linkage maps of Zea mays L. were generated based on: (1) a B73 x Mo17 recombinant inbred population and (2) a D32 x D145

Evaluation of AFLP in Beta

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1999
AFLP markers were evaluated for their usefulness in the genetic analysis of sugarbeet and wild Beta species. Accessions of ten different sugarbeet breeding lines and five wild beets were screened using 256 primer combinations. Of the 11 309 bands investigated, 96.4% were polymorphic among the accessions.

HLA‐DR generic typing by AFLP

Tissue Antigens, 1991
Abstract: We have described a practical and inexpensive method whereby any individual can be typed and assigned to any of the 14 generic HLA‐DR types: DR1, DRwl5, DRwl6, DRwl7, DRwl8, DR4, DRwll, DRwl2, DRwl3, DRwl4, DR7, DRw8, DR9 and DRw10. Previous methods to type these specificities include ‐ among others ‐ serology, conventional RFLP, PCR ...
