Maize Biofortification Approaches for Fighting Malnutrition in Sub‐Saharan Africa
ABSTRACT Maize is a staple food in sub‐Saharan Africa (SSA); however, commonly used maize varieties are deficient in essential nutrients, including lysine, tryptophan, vitamin A, and minerals such as iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn). As a result, millions of people in this region suffer from one or more nutrient deficiencies that commonly lead to malnutrition ...

The Ceiling Height of Wildland Fire Plumes in Quasi‐Steady Stratified and Sheared Boundary Layers
Abstract Radar observations from a prescribed fire experiment reveal a large‐scale, billow‐like vorticity structure associated with the plume head near the onset of plume bending. This bending limits the vertical extent of the plume and defines the characteristic plume ceiling height.

Using Eye Lens Stable Isotopes to Identify the Rearing Origin of Fall Age‐0 Walleye (Sander vitreus)
ABSTRACT Isotope values in fish eye lenses may be useful in differentiating rearing origins. We compared eye lens isotopic values of fall fingerling age‐0 walleye (Sander vitreus) reared in a hatchery pond, a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS), and a natural lake. Using 10 fish per rearing source, we delaminated layers from one eye lens per fish to
