Enantiomeric behaviour of albendazole and fenbendazole sulfoxides in domestic animals: Pharmacological implications

Albendazole and fenbendazole are methylcarbamate benzimidazole anthelmintics extensively used to control gastrointestinal parasites in domestic animals. These parent compounds are metabolised to albendazole sulfoxide and fenbendazole sulfoxide (oxfendazole), respectively.
