Anti‐Inflammatory and Antibacterial Properties of Curcuma longa Extract Against Helicobacter pylori

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 69, Issue 20, October 2025.
This study explored the effects of Curcuma longa extract (CLE) against H. pylori infection. CLE contained 18 chemical compounds and completely inhibited growth of H. pylori Sydney strain 1 (SS1) in vitro. In infected mice with H. pylori SS1, oral administration of CLE successfully eradicated H.

Albendazole metabolism in patients with neurocysticercosis: antipyrine as a multifunctional marker drug of cytochrome P450

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2002
The present study investigates the isoform(s) of cytochrome P450 (CYP) involved in the metabolism of albendazole sulfoxide (ASOX) to albendazole sulfone (ASON) in patients with neurocysticercosis using antipyrine as a multifunctional marker drug.

Solvent‐Controlled, Catalyst‐Free Aerobic Photooxidation of Thioethers to Sulfoxides at 370 nm

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 10, Issue 40, October 27, 2025.
Solvent‐controlled; catalyst‐free aerobic photooxidation converts thioethers (sulfides) to sulfoxides using ultraviolet (UV) light from a 370 nm light‐emitting diode (LED) under O2. Protic solvents—2,2,2‐trifluoroethanol (TFE) and ethanol—give up to 100% selectivity and easy isolation. Mechanistic probes support a singlet‐oxygen (1O2) pathway.

Thiostrepton Suppresses the Progression of Rhabdomyosarcoma by Inhibiting the PI3K‐AKT Signaling Pathway

open access: yesPediatric Discovery, Volume 3, Issue 3, September 2025.
The study establish TST as a multi‐mechanism PI3K‐AKT inhibitor for refractory RMS while validating Cmap‐driven drug repurposing for pediatric oncology. ABSTRACT Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), the most common pediatric soft tissue sarcoma with 5‐year survival below 30% in high‐risk/metastatic cases, was investigated through integrated bioinformatics analysis (

Echinococcus multilocularis Alkaline Phosphatase as a Marker for Metacestode Damage Induced by In Vitro Drug Treatment with Albendazole Sulfoxide and Albendazole Sulfone [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 2001
ABSTRACT Alveolar echinococcosis (AE) is caused by the metacestode stage of the fox tapeworm Echinococcus multilocularis . The disease affects the human liver and occasionally other organs and is fatal if treatment is unsuccessful.

New benzimidazole derivatives containing hydrazone group as anticancer agents: Inhibition of carbonic anhydrase IX and molecular docking studies

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 358, Issue 3, March 2025.
New benzimidazole‐hydrazone derivatives (3a–3j) were designed and synthesized to investigate their effects on carbonic anhydrase (CA) IX and their anticancer activity. Compounds 3d and 3j were found to have the highest activity on CA IX and also showed anticancer properties.

Ivermectin as a promising therapeutic option for onchocerciasis‐associated epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, Volume 10, Issue 1, Page 361-367, February 2025.
Abstract Onchocerciasis, commonly known as river blindness, is a neglected tropical disease caused by the parasite Onchocerca volvulus. It can lead to blindness and visual impairment. Studies have also demonstrated a link between onchocerciasis and epilepsy, with there being a correlation between onchocerciasis endemicity and epilepsy prevalence ...

A single adulticide dose of albendazole induces cytochromes P4501A in mouflon (Ovis musimon) with dicrocoeliosis

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2007
Contact handling with wild or semi-domesticated animals requires limiting animal stress to minimum. In this respect, single administration of drug should be preferred in contact therapy of mouflon (Ovis musimon) infected by lancet fluke (Dicrocoelium ...

Part 2: Drug Interactions Involving Cannabis Products in Persons Aged 18 and Over: A Summary of Published Case Reports and Analysis of the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System

open access: yesPharmacology Research &Perspectives, Volume 13, Issue 1, February 2025.
ABSTRACT The increasing utilization of cannabis products combined with lack of data regarding potential cannabis–prescription drug interactions is concerning. This study aimed to review published case reports and FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) spontaneous reports to assess cannabis–drug interactions in persons aged 18 and over. A literature
