On the Problem of Correcting Albumen Quality Measures for Egg Weight
Abstract FOR the past decade or more, the Haugh unit has generally been regarded as the best criterion of albumen quality. This is in a sense, as suggested by Brant et al. (1951) that the “best” criterion is one which is objective, is linearly related to observed albumen quality, and is quick and easy to measure.

PHENOTYPIC CORRELATIONS BETWEEN SOME EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL EGG QUALITY TRAITS IN GRAMAPRIYA LAYERS [PDF]
In a study, 360 nos of eggs were randomly collected from 80 birds from a flock of Gramapriya layers for a period of twelve weeks and assessed individually for the evaluation of the egg quality traits and to study the phenotypic correlations between ...

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Role of the Shell Gland in Determination of Albumen Quality
Abstract Experiments were conducted to determine the crude ovomucin contents of eggs at various stages of egg formation. The total ovomucin content was greatest in eggs obtained from the isthmus four and one-half hours after oviposition of the previous egg.

Effects of Management, Strain and Truck Shipment on Albumen Quality of Eggs
Abstract VERY little has been reported on changes in quality of eggs during shipment. Gwin (1952) reported a study involving more than a billion eggs purchased by the Armed Forces of the United States. U. S. Grades were determined by candling and inspection by trained inspectors from the Army Veterinary Corps and the U. S.

ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

ABSTRACT Background Chronic limb‐threatening ischemia (CLTI) is a severe form of lower‐extremity artery disease characterized by distal lesions and microcirculatory impairment, limiting revascularization efficacy. Rheocarna is a direct hemoperfusion low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) adsorption device with potential rheological and anti‐inflammatory ...

Albumen Quality and Shell Thickness as Affected by Time of Egg Gathering
Abstract Two experiments were conducted using 1600 pullets each. Four light regimes were used, with each providing a total of 14 hours of light in a period of 24 hours. In three treatments the 14 hours of light and 10 hours of darkness were divided into shorter intervals.
