Release and Formation of Oxidation-Related Aldehydes during Wine Oxidation.

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2016
Twenty-four Spanish wines were subjected to five consecutive cycles of air saturation at 25 °C. Free and bound forms of carbonyls were measured in the initial samples and after each saturation.

Rigid Fluorescent Indacenetetraone‐Based Semiconducting Polymers via Knoevenagel Condensation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
New donor–acceptor polymers prepared by Knoevenagel condensation of indacenedithiophene‐ and indacenedifuran‐based aldehydes reveal an exceptionally rigid backbone, which is manifested in the remarkably narrow absorption and emission bands in red to near‐infrared region.

Gas-liquid chromatography of 2-chloroethyl esters using a detector specific for halogens

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1967
The gas-liquid chromatography of 2-chloroethyl derivatives of short- and long-chain monocarboxylic acids, and of short-chain dicarboxylic acids and aldehydes has been studied with a dual-flame ionization detector that provided simultaneous records of the

Modeling of the formation of short-chain acids in propane flames [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
In order to better understand their potential formation in combustion systems, a detailed kinetic mechanism for the formation of short-chain monocarboxylic acids, formic (HCOOH), acetic (CH3COOH), propionic (C2H5COOH) and propenic (C2H3COOH)) acids, has been developed. Simulations of lean (equivalence ratios from 0.9 to 0.48) laminar premixed flames of

Research of Mineral Adsorbents Application for Water-alcohol Solutions Purification in Technology of Alcoholic Beverages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The possibility of using natural mineral adsorbents - clinoptilolite and schungite - in the adsorption purification of water-alcohol solutions of different concentrations was studied using the example of impurities of ethanol of acetaldehyde and ethyl ...

Transmembrane Activation of Catalysis and Protein Refolding in Synthetic Cells by Enzymes and Nanozymes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Synthetic cells are engineered herein to respond to an external chemical messenger by the activation of intracellular catalysis. The chemical messenger molecules are catalytically generated by an extracellular enzyme or a mineral surface, whereas the intracellular catalysis emerges via direct enzyme activation or via protein refolding.

Molecular Control of Fruit Ripening and Sensory Quality of Charentais Melon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Traditional Charentais melons have a typical climacteric behavior with ethylene playing a major role in the regulation of the ripening process.

Thiol‐Modulation‐Induced Mesoporous Nanosheets with an Alloy/Intermetallic Heterophase for Efficient Electrochemical Ethylene Glycol‐Assisted Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐capped mesoporous PtPbBi nanosheets (S‐PtPbBi MNSs) with an alloy/intermetallic compound heterophase and inhomogeneous tensile strain (≈3%) were synthesized by a thiol modification strategy, which exhibited excellent electrocatalytic performance for ethylene glycol oxidation reaction (EGOR).

Oxidative stress and human spermatozoa: diagnostic and functional significance of aldehydes generated as a result of lipid peroxidation.

open access: yesMolecular human reproduction, 2015
Oxidative stress is known to compromise human sperm function and to activate the intrinsic apoptotic cascade in these cells. One of the key features of oxidatively stressed spermatozoa is the induction of a lipid peroxidation process that results in the ...
