Modular injectable matrices based on alginate solution/microsphere mixtures that gel in situ and co-deliver immunomodulatory factors [PDF]
Biocompatible polymer solutions that can crosslink in situ following injection to form stable hydrogels are of interest as depots for sustained delivery of therapeutic factors or cells, and as scaffolds for regenerative medicine.

Convergent losses of arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis in carnivorous plants
Summary Most land plants form the ancient arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) symbiosis, while carnivory is a younger trait that evolved in several angiosperm orders. The two biotic interactions similarly help plants acquire mineral nutrients, raising the question of whether they can coexist.

Hydration of vinyl ether groups by unsaturated glycoside hydrolases and their role in bacterial pathogenesis [PDF]
Many pathogenic microorganisms invade mammalian and/or plant cells by producing polysaccharide-degrading enzymes (lyases and hydrolases). Mammalian glycosaminoglycans and plant pectins that form part of the cell surface matrix are typical targets for ...

Interfacial Stress Regulates Plasticity and Drug Resistance at the Breast Cancer‐Host Interface
Drop‐on‐demand printing is used to replicate the spatial compartmentalization of the breast cancer‐host interface. Hydrogel confinement affects phenotypic changes in cells at the spheroid interface that drives a two‐fold increase in chemotherapeutic resistance compared to control unconfined spheroids.
