Macrosteps dynamics and the growth of crystals and epitaxial layers [PDF]

open access: yesProgress in Crystal Growth and Characterization of Materials - 6 September 2022; 68 :100581, 2022
Step pattern stability of the vicinal surfaces during growth was analyzed using various surface kinetic models. It was shown that standard analysis of the vicinal surfaces provides no indication on the possible step coalescence and therefore could not be used to elucidate macrostep creation during growth.

In Vitro Bioaccessibility of Proteins and Bioactive Compounds of Wild and Cultivated Seaweeds from the Gulf of Saint Lawrence

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2023
Despite the increased interest in macroalgae protein and fibers, little information is available on their bioaccessibility. The application of an in vitro gastrointestinal digestion model to study the degree of disintegration and release of proteins with

High repetition rate and coherent Free-Electron Laser in the tender X-rays based on the Echo-Enabled Harmonic Generation of an Ultra-Violet Oscillator pulse [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Fine time-resolved analysis of matter - i.e. spectroscopy and photon scattering - in the linear response regime requires a fs-scale pulsed, high repetition rate, fully coherent X-ray source. A seeded Free-Electron Laser (FEL) driven by a Super-Conducting Linac, generating $10^{8}$-$10^{10}$ coherent photons at 2-5 keV with abou 0.5 MHz of repetition ...

Les rôles des caractéristiques sensorielles des aliments dans le comportement alimentaire des ruminants domestiques

open access: yesINRAE Productions Animales, 2013
Pour évaluer les aliments et orienter leurs choix alimentaires, les ruminants utilisent les informations pré-ingestives (c'est-à-dire les caractéristiques sensorielles des aliments perçues avant leur déglutition) et les informations post ...

Comparative Study of Different Sampling Methods of Biofilm Formed on Stainless-Steel Surfaces in a CDC Biofilm Reactor

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
The formation of biofilms in dairy processing plants can reduce equipment efficiency, contribute to surface deterioration, and contaminate dairy products by releasing the microorganisms they contain, which may cause spoilage or disease.

Dissipation-managed soliton in a quasi-one-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate [PDF]

open access: yesLaser Phys. Lett 3 (2006) 553-557, 2006
We use the time-dependent mean-field Gross-Pitaevskii equation to study the formation of a dynamically-stabilized dissipation-managed bright soliton in a quasi-one-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). Because of three-body recombination of bosonic atoms to molecules, atoms are lost (dissipated) from a BEC.
