Identification of Hot and Cold Regions for Mutagenesis in the Escherichia coli tdk Gene: A Catalog of Mutational Sites

ABSTRACT We constructed a catalog of mutational sites in the tdk gene of Escherichia coli that consists of 378 different base pair substitutions at 245 different sites (base pairs). This allows us to examine the tendency of different sub‐regions of the gene to be more or less prone to mutations when compared with other sub‐regions.

Epigenetic reprogramming in multiple myeloma—Challenges and opportunities

International Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Abstract In cancer, mutational processes act in concert with epigenetic reprogramming to endow malignant cells with hallmark properties that underpin tumorigenesis. Compared with the relatively rigid and slow processes of genetic evolution, the plastic nature of chromatin enables cells to adapt to a changing environment more rapidly.

Abstract Cancer during pregnancy is relatively rare. The incidence is underestimated due to the lack of international registries covering both high‐income and low‐ and middle‐income countries, and is expected to rise with increasing maternal age and increasing global adoption of cell‐free DNA testing for aneuploidy.
