Development of an Efficient Stereoretentive Para‐Claisen‐Cope Rearrangement

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
The stereoretentive para‐Claisen‐Cope rearrangement enabled by Europium catalysis is presented, achieving precise phenol functionalization with exceptional chirality transfer under air‐ and moisture‐tolerant conditions. A novel carbonate unlocks superior enantioselectivity in the Tsuji‐Trost allylic alkylation, paving the way for highly enantioenriched

Indole Synthesis via Allenyl Ester; Enantioselective Total Synthesis of Geissoschizoline

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
An indole synthesis via an allenyl ester intermediate at ambient temperature has been developed. The mild reaction conditions allow the use of a broad range of substrates. Notably, the utility of this approach is demonstrated through the asymmetric total synthesis of geissoschizoline, a Strychnos‐type monoterpenoid indole alkaloid.

In Situ Generation of Alkyl–λ3–Iodanes as Soft and Highly Reactive Electrophiles

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
A convenient and practical method for the clean generation of alkyl–λ3–iodanes is reported using tetraalkylsilanes and iodine tris(trifluoroacetate). An in situ‐generated methyl–λ3–iodane works as a soft and highly electrophilic methylation reagent, which enables methylation of tertiary sulfonamides at low temperatures and following transamidation and ...

Synthesis, Photophysical, and Chemiexcitation Properties of Luminol‐Fullerene Dyads: Toward Chemiexcitation Electron Transfer

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The emission properties of fullerene‐luminol dyads, following either irradiation or chemiexcitation, are evaluated. Strong luminol (chemi)luminescence quenching is partially attributed to electron transfer. Abstract Fullerene‐based donor‐acceptor (D‐A) dyads have been extensively studied for their unique electronic properties, with applications in ...

The Versatility of Diazirines: Properties, Synthetic and Modern Applications

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Diazirines are 3‐membered heterocycles containing two nitrogen atoms connected by a double bond. They possess a multi‐faceted reactivity that holds great potential for organic synthesis. This review discusses their properties, modes of activation, and their many modern uses, underlining their underappreciated versatility: as carbene precursors, but ...
