The study shows that noncardiac surgical inflammation rapidly disrupts HDL function and cholesterol efflux in mice and human patients. Impaired reverse cholesterol transport after surgery drives rapid lipid accumulation, NETosis, and apoptosis within atherosclerotic plaques.

Mitosene-DNA adducts. Characterization of two major DNA monoadducts formed by 1,10-bis(acetoxy)-7-methoxymitosene upon reductive activation [PDF]
Reductive activation of racemic 1,10-bis(acetoxy)-7-methoxymitosene WV15 in the presence of DNA, followed by enzymatic digestion and HPLC analysis, revealed the formation of various DNA adducts.

We investigate by proteomics studies how strand‐symmetric and ‐asymmetric cytosine 5‐modifications in DNA are selectively recognized by the nuclear proteome. Using promoter probes with defined modification patterns, we identify tissue‐specific reader proteinsincluding MYC, MAX, and RFX5that discriminate 5‐hydroxymethylcytosine symmetry and sequence ...

Active species in chloroaluminate ionic liquids catalyzing low-temperature polyolefin deconstruction
Chloroaluminate ionic liquids selectively transform (waste) polyolefins into gasoline-range alkanes through tandem cracking-alkylation at temperatures below 100 °C.

Synthesis of Optically Active Bifunctional Building Blocks through Enantioselective Copper-Catalyzed Allylic Alkylation Using Grignard Reagents [PDF]
Enantioselective copper-catalyzed allylic alkylations were performed on allylic bromides with a protected hydroxyl or amine functional group using several Grignard reagents and Taniaphos L1 as a ligand.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) released from TGF‐β‐activated CAFs are enriched with ECM proteins such as TSG6 and THBS1, which facilitate their binding to recipient cell membranes. This EV–cell interaction promotes the clustering of CD44 and TGF‐β receptors on the target cell surface, thereby potentiating TGF‐β signaling activity. This study highlights a

Conducting polymer wires in mesopore hosts [PDF]
Nanometer-size conducting structures are of great interest in view of fundamental issues and potential applications. We explore the inclusion chemistry of conjugated polymers and graphite-like materials as a means to create such structures.

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.

Use of genetic algorithms and gradient based optimization techniques for calcium phosphate precipitation [PDF]
Phase equilibrium computations constitute an important problem for designing and optimizing crystallization processes. The Gibbs free energy is generally used as an objective function to find phase amount and composition at equilibrium. In such problems,
