Functional characterization of all‐trans retinoic acid‐induced differentiation factor (ATRAID)

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2023
All‐trans retinoic acid‐induced differentiation (ATRAID) factor was first identified in HL60 cells. Several mRNA isoforms exist, but the respective proteins have not been fully characterized. In transfected cells expressing Myc‐Flag‐tagged ATRAID Isoform

TULP4, a novel E3 ligase gene, participates in neuronal migration as a candidate in schizophrenia

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, EarlyView., 2023
Mutations identified from four SCZ pedigrees resulted in decreased TULP4 expression. Tulp4 knockdown caused delayed neuron migration in embryonic mice, and impaired cognition and prepulse inhibition in adult mice. These phenotypes may be related to TULP4 through its involvement in the formation of a novel E3 ubiquitin ligases.

Retinoids regulate the formation and degradation of gap junctions in androgen-responsive human prostate cancer cells.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The retinoids, the natural or synthetic derivatives of Vitamin A (retinol), are essential for the normal development of prostate and have been shown to modulate prostate cancer progression in vivo as well as to modulate growth of several prostate cancer ...

Quantification of retinoic acid by gas-liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry: total versus all-trans-retinoic acid in human plasma.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1985
An assay based on negative ion chemical ionization mass spectrometry has been developed to quantify retinoic acid in plasma or serum. The lower limit of detection is 75 pg (240 fmol); normal values of retinoic acid can be determined on as little as 40 ...

HPLC-MS/MS analysis of the products generated from all-trans-retinoic acid using recombinant human CYP26A

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2002
Two mammalian hCYP26A expression systems have been used to analyze the metabolic products of CYP26A. Through the use of extensive HPLC, UV spectroscopy, and liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methodology, we have conclusively ...

Hepatic retinoic acid receptor alpha mediates all‐trans retinoic acid's effect on diet‐induced hepatosteatosis

open access: yesHepatology Communications, 2022
All‐trans retinoic acid (AtRA) is an active metabolite of vitamin A that influences many biological processes in development, differentiation, and metabolism. AtRA functions through activation of retinoid acid receptors (RARs).

An atypical promyelocytic sarcoma and pleural effusion in a patient with Gorham's disease: Efficiency of ATRA/ATO‐based treatment

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2023
Key Clinical Message This is the first case of a promyelocytic sarcoma diagnosed on pleural effusion and exposed the difficulty of demonstrating a leukemic phase in patients with bone diseases, such as Gorham's disease.

Genital vasculitis secondary to all-trans-retinoic-acid [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2016
Acute promyelocytic leukaemia is among the most curable haematological malignancies after the introduction of differentiating agents (arsenic trioxide (ATO) and all-trans-retinoic-acid (ATRA)). Despite excellent cure rates, approaching 85–95% in various series, APL is associated with significant early mortality and morbidity.

Pseudotumor cerebri presenting with visual failure in promyelocytic leukemia: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2012
Introduction Pseudotumor cerebri secondary to all-trans retinoic acid in acute promyelocytic leukemia is a reported but rare complication of the therapy. Most cases improve following the discontinuation of all-trans retinoic acid.
