Role of immunoglobulin E and mast cells in murine models of asthma
Immunoglobulin E (IgE) and mast cells are believed to play important roles in allergic inflammation. However, their contributions to the pathogenesis of human asthma have not been clearly established.

A pathophysiological role of PDE3 in allergic airway inflammation [PDF]
Phosphodiesterase 3 (PDE3) and PDE4 regulate levels of cyclic AMP, which are critical in various cell types involved in allergic airway inflammation. Although PDE4 inhibition attenuates allergic airway inflammation, reported side effects preclude its application as an antiasthma drug in humans.

ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyp (CRSwNP) is a heterogeneous Type 2 inflammatory disease characterized by enhanced eosinophilic infiltration. Both innate and adaptive immunity are involved in the onset and progression of CRSwNP.

ABSTRACT Background Bitter taste receptors (T2Rs) function in the innate immune defense of the sinonasal mucosa; however, the genetic association between the TAS2R gene family and chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) remains understudied in Asian populations.

ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) represents a spectrum of inflammatory endotypes, driven by distinct T helper (Th) immune responses. The high rate of recurrent disease despite appropriate medical and surgical interventions highlights the need for improved characterization beyond the traditional type 2 and non‐type 2 phenotypes to better

The airway neuro-immune axis as a therapeutic target in allergic airway diseases
Recent evidence has increasingly underscored the importance of the neuro-immune axis in mediating allergic airway diseases, such as allergic asthma and allergic rhinitis.

Objective Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) often involves extra‐articular complications, including interstitial lung disease (ILD) and/or pulmonary nodules. Transcriptomic profiling of lung tissue provides the opportunity to directly assess cell‐specific gene expression and corresponding pathway activation in different types of rheumatoid lung disease ...

RORγt‐APCs: The New Masters of Oral Tolerance
ABSTRACT Oral tolerance is defined by the hypo‐responsiveness of our body to fed antigens, and its failure can lead to immune‐mediated diseases, such as allergy, chronic inflammation and autoimmune diseases. Decades of research have demonstrated that antigen‐presenting cells (APCs) promote oral tolerance by inducing regulatory T cells (Tregs) and/or ...

This study demonstrates that resveratrol alleviates allergic rhinitis by activating SIRT1, thereby disrupting the mitochondrial ROS‐inflammatory cycle, improving mitochondrial function, promoting anti‐inflammatory M2 macrophage polarisation, and reducing epithelial oxidative damage.
