Regio- and stereoselective reactions of (S)-(1-methylpyrrolidin-2-yl)methyl allyl sulfide
Archives of Pharmacal Research, 1991The synthesis and regioselective reactions of a chiral allyl sulfide, (S)-(+)-(1-methylpyrrolidin-2-yl)methyl allyl sulfide (MAS.1) are described. Remarkable α-regioselectivity was observed in the alkylation of the carbanion of MAS while 1∶3 mixtures of α-and γ-adducts were produced in the addition of the MAS anion to aldehydes.

GAS-PHASE THERMOLYSIS OF SULFUR COMPOUNDS. PART V. METHYL ALLYL, DIALLYL AND BENZYL ALLYL SULFIDES
Phosphorus and Sulfur and the Related Elements, 1982Abstract The title compounds have been pyrolyzed in a stirred-flow system, at temperatures within the range 315–418°C and pressures between 2 and 15 torr. Under these conditions, the products observed were propene and the polymers of thiomethanal, allyl thioaldehyde and benzyl thioaldehyde.

The thio-Wittig rearrangement of deprotonated allyl methyl sulfide has been examined in the gas phase with a variable temperature flowing afterglow-triple quadrupole device. Collision-induced dissociation studies of a series of thiolate anions (RS-) reveal that methyl deprotonation leads to 3-butene-1-thiolate (2a), the [2,3]-Wittig product, while 1 ...

Garlic and Cruciferae are associated with reduced risks of several human cancers, and some of their constituents are anticarcinogenic in animals. Here we studied inhibition of in vitro metabolism of the rat esophageal carcinogen methyl-n-pentylnitrosamine (MPN) by garlic-derived allyl sulfides and by Cruciferae-derived phenethyl isothiocyanate (PEITC ...

Our recent studies have shown that naturally occurring dietary organo sulfure compounds such as di allyl sulfide and paclitaxel are capable of inhibiting polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) metabolism and subsequent PAH-DNA adduct formation in Wistar rats. In this study these plant phenols were tested for their effects against PAHs and 7,12 Di Methyl
