Low‐Rank Gap Filling and Downscaling for SMAP Soil Moisture Datasets
ABSTRACT Soil moisture is the linchpin of the surface hydrologic cycle, controlling the partitioning of water and energy fluxes at the surface. Without it, vegetation, and hence life on the solid Earth as we know it, would not exist. Understanding ecohydrology is understanding the availability of soil moisture to vegetation.

Spatial Patterns of Taxonomic, Functional, and Phylogenetic Diversity of Mammals in Southern Mexico
We analyzed mammal diversity in three dimensions in a biodiverse entity in southern Mexico at various spatial scales. With potential distribution models, we measure species richness, functional diversity, and phylogenetic diversity. We found different patterns between mammal groups (flying mammals, small mammals, and medium and large mammals).

A New Explicit Solution to Particle Settlement Velocity
The settlement velocity of discrete particles in water is an important parameter that is used in the design of water and wastewater settlement tanks and for the general environmental modeling of solids particles transport in water medium. The determination of particle settlement velocity is generally dependent on the flow regimes, with the transition ...
