Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Bile acids and bile alcohols of bullfrog.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1980
Gallbladder bile of the bullfrog, Rana cetesbeiana was found to contain a number of minor bile acids and bile alcohols in unconjugated forms. The following bile acids and bile alcohols were identified by combined gas-liquid chromatography-mass ...

Expression and Circular Dichroism Studies of the Extracellular Domain of the alpha Subunit of the Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
To provide material suitable for structural studies of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, we have expressed and purified the NH2-terminal extracellular domain of the mouse muscle alpha subunit.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Identification of (22R)-3 alpha,7 alpha,12 alpha,22- and (23R)-3 alpha,7 alpha,12 alpha,23-tetrahydroxy-5 beta-cholestanoic acids in urine from a patient with Zellweger's syndrome.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1989
The nature of two novel C27 bile acids present as the taurine conjugates in urine from a patient with Zellweger's syndrome was studied. Bile acids conjugated with taurine were isolated from unconjugated and glycine-conjugated bile acids by means of ion ...

Lipid peroxidation is essential for α-synuclein-induced cell death. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Parkinson's disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disease and its pathogenesis is closely associated with oxidative stress. Deposition of aggregated α-synuclein (α-Syn) occurs in familial and sporadic forms of Parkinson's disease.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Effects of alpha-linolenic acid and essential amino acids on the proliferation and differentiation of C2C12 myoblasts

open access: yesJournal of Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology, 2022
Alpha-linolenic acid is an important polyunsaturated fatty acid that exhibits anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidative effects. In this study, we investigated the protective effects of alpha-linolenic acid on the cell proliferation and ...

Amino Acids Sequences Analysis on Collagen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Staring from available information about amino acids properties and sequences on collagen type I chains, the aims of the study were to identify the principal property component and to analyze the similarities within and between collagens on five species.

Homologation of alpha-amino acids to beta-amino acids using Fmoc-amino acid pentafluorophenyl esters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The homologation of alpha-amino acids to beta-amino acids by the two-step Arndt-Eister method is achieved by using Fmoc-alpha-amino acid pentafluorophenyl esters for the acylation of diazomethane, synthesizing the key intermediates Fmoc ...
