A dynamic mechanism of Alzheimer based on artificial neural network [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
In this paper, we provide another angle to analyze the reasons why Alzheimer Disease exists. We analyze the dynamic mechanism of Alzheimer Disease based on the cognitive model that established from artificial neural network. We can provide some theoretic explanations to Alzheimer Disease through the analyzing of this model.

Calcium modulating ligand confers risk for Parkinson's disease and impacts lysosomes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Several genetic loci known to confer risk for Parkinson's disease (PD) function in lysosomal pathways. We systematically screened common variants linked to PD risk by genome‐wide association studies (GWAS) for impact on cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) proteins reflecting lysosomal function.

Relationship of cognitive decline with glucocerebrosidase activity and amyloid‐beta 42 in DLB and PD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and Parkinson's disease (PD) share clinical, pathological, and genetic risk factors, including GBA1 and APOEε4 mutations. Biomarkers associated with the pathways of these mutations, such as glucocerebrosidase enzyme (GCase) activity and amyloid‐beta 42 (Aβ42) levels, may hold potential as predictive ...

An Ensemble of Deep Convolutional Neural Networks for Alzheimer's Disease Detection and Classification [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Alzheimer's Disease destroys brain cells causing people to lose their memory, mental functions and ability to continue daily activities. It is a severe neurological brain disorder which is not curable, but earlier detection of Alzheimer's Disease can help for proper treatment and to prevent brain tissue damage. Detection and classification of Alzheimer'

Transfer Learning and Class Decomposition for Detecting the Cognitive Decline of Alzheimer Disease [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is essential in preventing the disease's progression. Therefore, detecting AD from neuroimaging data such as structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) has been a topic of intense investigation in recent years. Deep learning has gained considerable attention in Alzheimer's detection.

TREM2 variants in Alzheimer's disease.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2013
BACKGROUND Homozygous loss-of-function mutations in TREM2, encoding the triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 protein, have previously been associated with an autosomal recessive form of early-onset dementia.

Evidence of blood–brain barrier dysfunction and CSF immunoglobulin synthesis in Down Syndrome Regression Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives This study sought to evaluate proteomic, metabolomic, and immune signatures in the cerebrospinal fluid of individuals with Down Syndrome Regression Disorder (DSRD). Methods A prospective case–control study comparing proteomic, metabolomic, and immune profiles in individuals with DSRD was performed.

Preclinical Stage Alzheimer's Disease Detection Using Magnetic Resonance Image Scans [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Alzheimer's disease is one of the diseases that mostly affects older people without being a part of aging. The most common symptoms include problems with communicating and abstract thinking, as well as disorientation. It is important to detect Alzheimer's disease in early stages so that cognitive functioning would be improved by medication and training.
