From In‐Silico Optimized Microfabrication to Experimental Validation: Engineering a Tridimensional Epi‐Intraneural Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An epi‐intraneural interface is developed through in silico optimization and a novel tridimensional microfabrication pipeline. The device integrates penetrating and epineural contacts on a flexible substrate. Mechanical, electrochemical, and in vivo testing in rat and pig reveal robust implantation, low‐threshold activation, and site‐dependent ...

C3H mouse model of Alzheimer's disease: Blood markers, proteomic biomarkers, cognitive ability, and histopathology

open access: yesOpen Veterinary Journal
Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative condition, and the number of cases is projected to rise each year. Developing an Alzheimer's disease animal model has a major impact in studying the pathology of the disease and in ...

Contact Lens with Moiré Patterns for High‐Precision Eye Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a passive contact lens for high‐precision eye tracking, integrating a microscopic moiré grating label. The parallax‐induced shift of macroscopic moiré patterns enables angle measurement with 0.28° precision using a standard camera under ambient light.

Additional file 5: of Beneficial effects of curtailing immune susceptibility in an Alzheimerâ s disease model

open access: yes, 2019
Figure S5. Co-localization of CD3 and FoxP3 in the human AD brain. Immunofluorescence in representative samples for both molecules was detected in immune cells in the hippocampus of AD patients, whereas it was absent in the brain of healthy individuals (merge column; DAPIâ =â nuclear staining).

Unraveling Quantitative Sensing Mechanism and Predictive Molecular Metrics for High‐Performance OFET Amine Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel chloro boron subphthalocyanine/polymer blend OFET sensor achieving 0.005 ppb limit of detection for ammonia at room temperature and high selectivity against similar amines. An original theoretical framework is proposed to describe the sensing mechanism, relating analyte molecular volume and Lewis basicity to sensor ...

Review: Exploration of Alzheimer\'s Disease

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation, 2006
In the 8th edition (1910) of "Psychiatric: Ein Lehrbuch fur Studirende und Arzte", Kraepelin stated that a "particular group of cases with extremely serious cell alterations" were discussed by Alzheimer. Those changes were: "Excessively numerous plaques,
