Comparative multitrait analysis under long‐term water deficit revealed divergent drought resilience and nutritional trade‐offs among wheat and pseudocereals. Amaranth achieved the highest absolute yield despite large proportional losses, quinoa maintained stability, and chia showed reproductive failure with concentration‐driven increases in multiple ...

Role of Millets for Food Security Under Climate Change
ABSTRACT The accelerating impacts of climate change pose significant threats to global food security, highlighting critical vulnerabilities within the agricultural system. As greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, global temperatures have increased by 0.6°C over the 20th century, with projections indicating further increases of 0.1°C–2°C per decade.

This scoping review (2020–2025) compiles validated evidence on the antioxidant potential of unconventional edible plants (PANCs). Thirty species showed high phenolic content and strong radical‐scavenging activity, reinforcing their role as natural antioxidants and sustainable alternatives to synthetic additives within biodiversity‐based food systems ...

Antiproliferative Effect of Okra Seed Protein Isolate against HepG2 and A549 Cell Lines
Cytotoxic effects exhibited by OSPI against A549 cells significantly reduced the cell viability. Elevated caspase levels induced by OSPI in Hep‐G2 cells suggest intrinsic and extrinsic apoptosis. Treatment with OSPI and DOF exhibited elevated p53 expression in A549 cells, suggesting p53‐mediated apoptosis.

Abstract Local food systems in southern Mexico are increasingly affected by water scarcity, climate variability, and peri‐urban change. Despite growing scholarship on adaptive strategies and agroecology, limited empirical evidence explains how long‐term organizational dynamics translate agroecological principles into sustained adaptation under changing

Background The global dominance of a few major cereal crops has led to the marginalization of traditional species, reducing agrobiodiversity and increasing the vulnerability of food systems. Changing climate conditions, particularly intensifying drought stress, further threaten global food security.

The global prevalence of type 2 diabetes continues to rise, highlighting the need for culturally relevant, plant‐based functional ingredients capable of attenuating postprandial glycaemic responses. This study explored the physicochemical, technofunctional, antioxidant and in vitro antiglycaemic properties of Telfairia occidentalis leaf and seed ...
