Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 1, 1972The preparation and borohydride reduction of 2,3-dideoxy-5,6-O-isopropylidene-2′-phenyl-D-allofuranoso-[2,3-d]-Δ2′-oxazoline (XXI) are described. The reduction product was a derivative of 2-amino-2-deoxy-D-allitol, indicating that no isomerisation of the sugar system in compound (XXI) had occurred during its formation and reduction.
