Low Oxygen Availability Increases Itaconate Production by Ustilago maydis
ABSTRACT Itaconic acid is a monomer for high performance polymers. While produced in industry with the filamentous fungi Aspergillus terreus, the production with the smut fungus Ustilago maydis was proposed recently. The strict aerobic process suffers from high power input via gassing and stirring. Here, we investigated in detail possible scenarios for

ABSTRACT Maize is an important crop worldwide with approximately 1200 million tons consumed and a market size worth $143 billion. Environmental stress influence production of crops and mitigating these ensures optimum production. Dicarboxylic acids are known as emulsifying agents that mitigate various stresses in plants.

The Role of Metabolites in CSF on NAFLD Development: A Mendelian Randomisation Analysis
This MR analysis reveals 24 CSF metabolites, notably 7‐HOCA (positively correlated) and uracil (negatively correlated), as causal factors in NAFLD pathogenesis. These findings implicate CNS derived metabolic regulation in hepatic steatosis, proposing novel diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

We identified differing metabolic responses to different types of yogurt. Brown yogurt mainly modulated pathways associated with human and gut microbial ammonia metabolism, whereas probiotic yogurt mainly affected amino acid metabolism. ABSTRACT Consuming yogurt is beneficial for healthy people, but few studies have evaluated the interactions among ...

Identification of MscS as a Key L‐Glutamate Exporter in Bacillus methanolicus
l‐Glutamate export in the methylotrophic bacterium Bacillus methanolicus, driven by an MscS‐like mechanosensitive channel. Figure created with BioRender (https://BioRender.com/t99s28). ABSTRACT Small‐conductance mechanosensitive channels (MscS) are established l‐glutamate exporters in industrially relevant bacteria, yet their role in the methylotrophic

ABSTRACT The MT‐ATP6 gene m.8993T>G pathogenic variant has been associated with Leigh syndrome, especially in patients exhibiting a high degree of heteroplasmy. Although patients may present with a wide phenotypic spectrum, characteristic findings include bilateral, symmetric hyperintensities in the basal ganglia and brainstem on brain MRI ...
