Fungal Antimicrobial Resistance: Mechanisms, Drivers, and Global Clinical Burden

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fungal antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing concern for world health caused by an increase in multidrug‐resistant infections, an increase in environmental reservoirs, and the ineffectiveness of current antifungal treatments. Fungal infections continue to be largely excluded from AMR initiatives while causing over 1.6 million deaths ...

Cyclic Peptide MV6, an Aminoglycoside Efficacy Enhancer Against Acinetobacter baumannii

open access: yesAntibiotics
Background/Objectives: Acinetobacter baumannii is a globally emerging pathogen with widespread antimicrobial resistance driven by multiple mechanisms, such as altered expression of efflux pumps like AdeABC, placing it as a priority for research.

Highly Potent Fluorogenic Ligands for Triplex DNA: 5‐Substituted 2‐(Naphthalen‐2‐yl)‐4H‐Chromen‐4‐Ones

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
5‐Substituted 2‐(naphthalen‐2‐yl)‐4H‐chromen‐4‐ones are reported as a novel class of highly potent and selective triplex DNA ligands. These ligands induce triplex formation at submicromolar concentrations and inhibit enzymatic activity via ligand‐mediated triplex formation.

Aminoglycoside heteroresistance in Enterobacter cloacae is driven by the cell envelope stress response

open access: yesmBio
Enterobacter cloacae is a Gram-negative nosocomial pathogen of the ESKAPE (Enterococcus, Staphylococcus, Klebsiella, Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas, and Enterobacter spp.) priority group with increasing multi-drug resistance via the acquisition of resistance

The Visual Predictive Check and Real‐World Data

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The visual predictive check (VPC) is a standard tool for assessing pharmacometric model suitability, producing visualizations that compare observed data with simulated data such that both model structure and model variability terms can be assessed. However, real‐world data commonly reflect clinical decision‐making that adapts therapy in response to ...

H-NS controls the susceptibility of Escherichia coli to aminoglycosides by interfering its uptake and efflux

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
H-NS is a histone-like nucleoid-structuring protein that regulates gene expressions, particularly acquired foreign genes, however, little is known about whether H-NS can modulate bacterial susceptibility by regulating its intrinsic genes. The hns-deleted

Surface‐Strongly Complexed BiVO4 Homojunction Photoanodes: Enabling Efficient Antibiotic Pollutant Degradation and Resource Upgrading

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Herein, a synergistic photoelectrochemical‐photothermal platform is constructed for simultaneous kanamycin remediation and resource valorization, addressing energy and environmental concerns. Photoelectrochemical (PEC) technology offers a promising approach for degrading antibiotic pollutants, yet it remains constrained by low efficiency and incomplete
