Alzheimer\u27s, angiotensin IV and an aminopeptidase

open access: yes, 2004
The angiotensin AT4 receptor was originally defined as the specific, high affinity binding site for the hexapeptide angiotensin IV (Ang IV). Subsequently, the peptide LVV-hemorphin 7 was also demonstrated to be a bioactive ligand of the AT4 receptor ...

Influence of Organic and Inorganic Amendments on Aggregate Development in a Sodic Dispersive Soil

open access: yesSoil Use and Management, Volume 42, Issue 2, April‐June 2026.
ABSTRACT Improvement of soil structure is critical for efficient nutrient and water transport to plants, particularly in sodic, dispersive soils. In addition to inorganic amendments such as gypsum, organic amendments (OAs) can enhance soil aggregation and stability through biochemical processes, but it is unclear how OAs composition [carbon (C) content,

Zinc-dependent aminopeptidases: new perspectives on structure, function, and biomedical applications

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemical Biology
Zinc-dependent aminopeptidases are a subclass of exopeptidases implicated in the hydrolysis of N-terminal residues from peptides through a Zn(II) co-factor dependent hydrolytic mechanism. In humans, the prominent members of this class of enzymes (ERAP1/2,

Plant subtilases as key initiators of peptide ligand‐receptor signaling

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 126, Issue 1, April 2026.
SUMMARY Peptide ligand‐receptor signaling plays a crucial role in regulating diverse biological processes in plants. Over the past three decades, numerous peptide ligands and their corresponding receptors have been identified, and our understanding of their downstream signaling pathways and biological functions has gradually advanced.

Detection of peptidases in Trypanosoma cruzi epimastigotes using chromogenic and fluorogenic substrates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Detergent extracts of Trypanosoma cruzi epimastigotes catalysed the hydrolysis of a range of amino-acyl and peptidyl p-nitro-anilides and aminomethylcoumarins. At least three enzymes were detected that cleave Z-Phe-Arg-MCA.

Safety evaluation of a food enzyme containing leucyl aminopeptidase, oryzin and aspergillopepsin I from the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus sp. strain AE‐PR

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract The food enzyme containing leucyl aminopeptidase (EC 3.4.11.1), oryzin (EC 3.4.21.63) and aspergillopepsin I (EC 3.4.23.18) activities is produced with the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus sp. strain AE‐PR by Amano Enzyme Inc. The food enzyme was considered free from viable cells of the production organism.

Bacterial β-peptidyl aminopeptidases: on the hydrolytic degradation of β-peptides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The special chemical and biological features of β-peptides have been investigated intensively during recent years. Many studies emphasize the restricted biodegradability and the high metabolic stability of this class of compounds.

Aminopeptidases in Mycelium and Growth Medium of Streptomyces rimosus Strains

open access: yesFood Technology and Biotechnology, 2009
Aminopeptidases (APs) of the same substrate specificities have been detected in the mycelia and culture filtrate of Streptomyces rimosus. To compare extracellular and intracellular prolyl, leucyl and arginyl AP, dynamics of their biosynthesis, excretion ...
