Thermal studies on mixtures of aminosalicylic acids with cyclodextrins

open access: yes, 2003
The thermal behaviour of the aminosalicylic acids is compared with the behaviour of their 1:1 molar ratio physical and kneaded mixtures with each of three different cyclodextrins (b-, hydroxypropyl-b-, and g-cyclodextrin), using differential scanning ...

Thermal studies on the sodium salts of aminosalicylic acids

open access: yes, 2003
The effect on the stability of the isomers of aminosalicylic acid of formation of their sodium salts has been studied by use of differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry, coupled with evolved gas analysis by Fourier transform infrared ...

Pyrazinoic acid, the active form of the anti-tuberculosis drug pyrazinamide, and aromatic carboxylic acid analogs are protonophores

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences
Pyrazinoic acid is the active form of pyrazinamide, a first-line antibiotic used to treat Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections. However, the mechanism of action of pyrazinoic acid remains a subject of debate, and alternatives to pyrazinamide in cases of

Sulfated Cyclocarya Paliurus Polysaccharide Sorchestrates the Gut Microbiome to Mobilize a Host‐Derived 12‐HEPE Against Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A sulfated polysaccharide (SCP) from Cyclocarya paliurus alleviates ulcerative colitis by reshaping the gut microbiome. This remodeled microbiota orchestrates the upregulation of the host‐derived lipid 12‐HEPE, which directly inhibits the TLR4/NF‐κB pathway to suppress inflammation.

Long‐Term Outcomes After Stoma Creation in Crohn's Disease: A Retrospective Cohort Study of 422 Patients

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim Stoma creation is often required in Crohn's disease (CD), most commonly because of progressive anorectal disease. As stoma closure strongly influences long‐term quality of life and surgical decision‐making, this study evaluated the indications and long‐term outcomes of stoma creation in patients with CD.

Smart Nanodelivery Systems for Immunometabolic Modulation in Osteoarthritis

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
Smart nanodelivery systems deliver therapeutic payloads across the cartilage matrix to ensure their sustained accumulation within chondrocytes at sites of injury. By targeting specific molecular targets and signaling pathways, these platforms modulate the pathological synovium‐cartilage axis to restore immunometabolic homeostasis and drive tissue ...

The Estimation of Para-Aminosalicylic Acid

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1954
Summary A comparative study of the existing methods of estimation of p-aminosalicylic acid and its compounds has been made and some of their defects pointed out. A method based on both decarboxylation and diazotisation is proposed and its advantages over the existing methods pointed out by a comparative study.

Beyond Gut Modulation: A Critical Review of the Therapeutic Potential, Safety, and Clinical Prospects of Natural Polysaccharides for IBD

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
In this review, we critically summarized the application of natural polysaccharides (NPs) for the treatment of IBD. This approach combines, in a unique way (right), the basic structure–activity relationships of NPs from different origins (left) with their multipronged mode of action, which involves modulation of the gut microbiota and other ...
