The Mycobacterium tuberculosis Rv0132c Gene Product Mtb‐FGD2 Can Act as an F420‐Dependent Glucose Dehydrogenase

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, Volume 94, Issue 9, Page 1610-1627, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The role of the cell envelope‐associated Rv0132c/FGD2 from Mycobacterium tuberculosis has long been a subject of debate. Importantly, FGD2 is found only in pathogenic mycobacteria, making it a potential drug target. While some suggest it functions as a glucose‐6‐phosphate dehydrogenase, others propose it acts instead as an F420‐dependent ...

Beyond Glucocorticoids: The Current Landscape and Prospects for Treating Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor‐Induced Autoimmunity

open access: yesACR Open Rheumatology, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
The rapid integration of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) into standard oncology protocols has birthed a new frontier in clinical rheumatology: immune‐related adverse events (irAEs). By disrupting the programmed cell death‐1 (PD‐1)/PD‐L1 and cytotoxic T‐lymphocyte‐associated protein 4 (CTLA‐4) axes to restore antitumor T cell activity, these ...

Sulfated Cyclocarya Paliurus Polysaccharide Sorchestrates the Gut Microbiome to Mobilize a Host‐Derived 12‐HEPE Against Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
A sulfated polysaccharide (SCP) from Cyclocarya paliurus alleviates ulcerative colitis by reshaping the gut microbiome. This remodeled microbiota orchestrates the upregulation of the host‐derived lipid 12‐HEPE, which directly inhibits the TLR4/NF‐κB pathway to suppress inflammation.

Protective effects of Graptophyllum pictum extract and its impact on the regulation of inflammatory mediators and short-chain fatty acids in experimental models: a multi-parameter comparative study

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
BackgroundPersistent colonic inflammation disrupts epithelial integrity, alters microbial metabolites, and impairs gut function. Graptophyllum pictum (daun wungu) contains bioactive compounds with anti-inflammatory and mucosal-protective potential, but ...

Severe Ulcerative Colitis With Cytomegalovirus Colitis Treated by Early Surgery: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Acute severe ulcerative colitis complicated by cytomegalovirus infection requires individualized management, and timely surgical intervention should be considered in carefully selected high‐risk patients who are unlikely to benefit from further medical therapy.

Cod Skin Collagen Peptides Alleviate Ulcerative Colitis by Regulating Gut Microbiota to Inhibit NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
CP suppresses NLRP3 inflammasome activation through modulation of the gut microbiota, thereby exerting protective effects against ulcerative colitis. ABSTRACT Enteral nutrition is an important intervention for ulcerative colitis, and collagen can improve immune responses and repair the intestinal barrier.

Rehmannia glutinosa Extracts Enhances Ketone Bodies Expression and Alleviates Ulcerative Colitis as A Novel Ketogenic Functional Food

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Rehmannia glutinosa (DH) can act as a novel ketogenic functional food to enhance the expression of ketone bodies without altering the normal dietary structure. This effect might be attributed to the increased activity of key enzymes involved in ketogenesis, such as 3‐hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase 1 (BDH1) and 3‐hydroxymethylglutaryl‐CoA synthase 2 ...
