Impact of propofol‐based vs. volatile‐based anaesthesia on survival and recurrence after cancer surgery: a systematic review and meta‐analysis of randomised trials

open access: yesAnaesthesia, EarlyView.
Summary Introduction Choice of peri‐operative anaesthetic technique may influence cancer recurrence, survival and mortality following curative surgery. Conflicting evidence exists on whether propofol‐based anaesthesia improves outcomes over volatile anaesthesia.

Anaesthetic management of a horse with acute kidney injury

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, EarlyView.
Summary Anaesthetic management of animals with acute kidney injuries (AKI) is complex and poses considerable risk. There are no publications describing management of anaesthetised horses with AKI. Effect of vertical distance between the heart base and the cuff on arterial blood pressure measurements using PetMAP in anaesthetised dogs

open access: yesJournal of Small Animal Practice, EarlyView.
Objectives To evaluate how variations in limb positioning, when compared with standard position at the heart base, affect oscillometric arterial blood pressure measurements in 22 anaesthetised healthy dogs. Materials and Methods The thoracic vertical depth was measured in each dog from the caudal angle of the scapula to the body of the sternum caudal ...

Remimazolam for Zephyr Endobronchial Valve Placement in a Severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Patient: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Remimazolam‐based general anesthesia provided stable hemodynamics and rapid, clear emergence in a patient with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease undergoing Zephyr endobronchial valve placement, suggesting that remimazolam may be a feasible anesthetic option for this procedure in patients with limited cardiopulmonary reserve.

SRM 1650b Administration to Isolated Rat Heart Aggravates Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury via Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Downregulation of PI3K/Akt Signaling Pathways

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 8, August 2026.
SRM 1650b diesel particulate matter caused dose‐dependent cardiotoxicity in isolated male Wistar rat hearts, worsening hemodynamics and tissue injury after ischemia–reperfusion. It increased oxidative stress, impaired mitochondrial bioenergetics and respiration, downregulated mitochondrial quality‐control genes, reduced mtDNA copy number, and ...
