Sevoflurane (sevo) alleviates ferroptosis in cardiomyocytes and ameliorates MI/RI symptoms by inhibiting HMGB1 expression, reducing ACSL4 stability, and negatively regulating the HMGB1/ACSL4 signaling pathway. ABSTRACT Sevoflurane (sevo) exhibits cardioprotective effects against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MIRI); however, its precise ...

ABSTRACT Background Preoperative anxiety is a significant stressor for children and is associated with negative postoperative outcomes. Although the incidence of difficult inductions during a single anesthetic encounter is well documented, the longitudinal trajectory of anxiety behaviors in children undergoing repeated anesthesia remains poorly ...

Malignant hyperthermia resolving with discontinuation of sevoflurane alone
An otherwise healthy 13 year old developed hypercarbia and increased temperature during anesthesia with sevoflurane. Discontinuation of sevoflurane, surface cooling, and hyperventilation resulted in prompt resolution.

ABSTRACT Opioids, most intravenous anesthetics and various illicit substances can cause fatal respiratory depression by depressing central respiratory networks. ENA‐001, a ventilatory modulator targeting the carotid bodies, has emerged as a potential countermeasure without impairing analgesia or hypnosis.

Abstract Abdominal hernias in bats are rarely reported in the literature, with most reports evaluating postmortem findings. The present study documents successful surgical management of post‐traumatic abdominal hernias in three vespertilionid bats. Three injured bats (two Nyctalus noctula and one Eptesicus serotinus) were admitted for veterinary care ...

Inhaled Methoxyflurane in Australian Emergency Departments—A Cost‐Minimisation Analysis
ABSTRACT Background Around 60% of emergency department (ED) patients present with pain. With growing ED‐demand, there is need for analgesic options that reduce resource use and cost. We estimate the potential cost‐savings from broader use of inhaled methoxyflurane in Australian EDs compared with standard‐of‐care (SOC) analgesics or procedural sedation.
