Adenoviral delivery of angiotensin-(1-7) or angiotensin-(1-9) inhibits cardiomyocyte hypertrophy via the mas or angiotensin type 2 receptor. [PDF]
The counter-regulatory axis of the renin angiotensin system peptide angiotensin-(1-7) [Ang-(1-7)] has been identified as a potential therapeutic target in cardiac remodelling, acting via the mas receptor.

ANGIOTENSIN II RECEPTOR TYPE 1 EXPRESSION IN PATIENTS WITH MULTIFOCAL ATHEROSCLEROSIS
Local expression of rennin-angiotensin system (RAS) components significantly increases in patients with arterial hypertension and atherosclerosis with or without elevation of RAS activity in the blood.

Angiotensin type 1 (AT1) receptor blocker (ARB) ameliorates progression of chronic kidney disease. Whether this protection is due solely to blockade of AT1, or whether diversion of angiotensin II from the AT1to the available AT2receptor, thus potentially enhancing AT2receptor effects, is not known.

Characterization of a mutant type-1 angiotensin II receptor
We have used PCR to amplify the rat AT1 receptor from liver mRNA. The receptor DNA was subcloned into pcDNAI and a number of individual clones were transiently expressed in COS-7 cells. These individual receptors were characterized by binding of [125I] Sar1, Ile8-angiotensin II.

Electronic sculpting of ligand-GPCR subtype selectivity:the case of angiotensin II [PDF]
GPCR subtypes possess distinct functional and pharmacological profiles, and thus development of subtype-selective ligands has immense therapeutic potential.

Signaling of angiotensin II-induced vascular protein synthesis in conduit and resistance arteries in vivo [PDF]
Background From in vitro studies, it has become clear that several signaling cascades are involved in angiotensin II-induced cellular hypertrophy.

Angiotensin II induces soluble fms-Like tyrosine kinase-1 release via calcineurin signaling pathway in pregnancy [PDF]
Maternal endothelial dysfunction in preeclampsia is associated with increased soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFlt-1), a circulating antagonist of vascular endothelial growth factor and placental growth factor.
