Relapses, Comorbidities, and Predictors of Outcome in Anti‐GABAA Receptor Encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objectives To characterize the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) lesion dynamics, comorbidities, predictors of relapse, and outcomes in anti‐γ‐aminobutyric acid type A receptor (GABAAR) encephalitis, and assess the utility of LIM‐domain‐only‐protein 5 (LMO5) antibodies as tumor markers.

Clinical Signs for Identifying Autoimmune Encephalitis in Psychiatric Patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Autoimmune mechanisms causing diverse psychiatric symptoms are increasingly recognized and brought about a paradigm shift in neuropsychiatry. Identification of underlying antibodies against neuronal ion channels or receptors led to the speculation that a

Anti‑N-Methyl-D-Aspartate-Receptor Encephalitis in Young Females

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Anesthesia and Reanimation, 2018
Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor encephalitis is an immune-mediated disease commonly associated with ovarian teratoma. Anti-NMDA-receptor autoantibodies disrupt NMDA function leading to the development of psychosis, seizures and autonomic dysfunction. The treatment includes underlying tumour resection and immunosuppression.

The causal relationship between systemic lupus erythematosus and juvenile myoclonic epilepsy: A Mendelian randomization study and mediation analysis

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 98-105, Spring 2025.
Mendelian randomization (MR) studies were conducted using the inverse‐variance weighted (IVW) method, MR‐Egger and weighted median on juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME), and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) data from the Integrative Epidemiology Unit (IEU) Open genome‐wide association study (GWAS) database and the International League Against Epilepsy

Anti-N-Methyl-D-Aspartate Encephalitis as Paraneoplastic Manifestation of Germ-Cells Tumours: A Cases Report and Literature Review

open access: yesCase Reports in Immunology, 2019
Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor encephalitis is the most common form of autoimmune encephalitis, caused by the interaction between an antibody and its target, located on glutamate receptor type N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) of neuronal surface ...
