Double knockdown of α1,6-fucosyltransferase (FUT8) and GDP-mannose 4,6-dehydratase (GMD) in antibody-producing cells: a new strategy for generating fully non-fucosylated therapeutic antibodies with enhanced ADCC

open access: yesBMC Biotechnology, 2007
Background Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) is greatly enhanced by the absence of the core fucose of oligosaccharides attached to the Fc, and is closely related to the clinical efficacy of anticancer activity in humans in vivo ...

CD38-targeted therapy with daratumumab reduces autoantibody levels in multiple myeloma patients

open access: yesJournal of Translational Autoimmunity, 2019
Autoantibody-producing plasma cells are frequently resistant to conventional immunosuppressive treatments and B-cell depletion therapy. As a result of this resistance, autoreactive plasma cells survive conventional therapy, resulting in persistent ...

Regulatory mechanisms of B cell responses and the implication in B cell-related diseases

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Science, 2019
Terminally differentiated B cell, the plasma cell, is the sole cell type capable of producing antibodies in our body. Over the past 30 years, the identification of many key molecules controlling B cell activation and differentiation has elucidated the ...

Distribution and Morphology of Antibody-Producing Cells in Dueks

open access: yesThe Japanese Journal of Veterinary Science, 1980

Combination of poly I:C and Pam3CSK4 enhances activation of B cells in vitro and boosts antibody responses to protein vaccines in vivo.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Vaccines that can rapidly induce strong and robust antibody-mediated immunity could improve protection from certain infectious diseases for which current vaccine formulations are inefficient.

Antibody-independent control of gamma-herpesvirus latency via B cell induction of anti-viral T cell responses. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2006
B cells can use antibody-dependent mechanisms to control latent viral infections. It is unknown whether this represents the sole function of B cells during chronic viral infection.

Seasonal variation of immune response to heterologous erythrocytes in natural populations of red‐backed (Clethrionomys rutilus) and gray‐sided (C. rufocanus) voles in Western Siberia

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2022
We studied the seasonal variation of adaptive humoral immunity (AHI) in northern red‐backed vole (Clethrionomys rutilus Pallas, 1779, RBV) and gray‐sided vole (C. rufocanus Sundevall, 1846, GSV) in Tomsk region of Western Siberia.

Detection of Tumor Cell Surface-reactive Antibodies

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2014
Vaccine-based immunotherapy is being used to treat dogs with primary brain tumors. The vaccines are composed of a lysate of autologous tumor cells, which stimulate an immune response producing tumor specific antibodies that are capable of inducing ...
