Distribution and Morphology of Antibody-Producing Cells in Dueks

open access: yesThe Japanese Journal of Veterinary Science, 1980

Potential mechanism of action of J5 vaccine in protection against severe bovine coliform mastitis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Coliform mastitis is one of the most difficult diseases to treat in the modern dairy industry. Curative therapy with antibiotics remains only moderately effective and depends on the stage at which the disease is treated, The most successful strategies ...

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

REAL-Select: full-length antibody display and library screening by surface capture on yeast cells. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
We describe a novel approach named REAL-Select for the non-covalent display of IgG-molecules on the surface of yeast cells for the purpose of antibody engineering and selection.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Chimeric anti-HLA antibody receptor engineered human regulatory T cells suppress alloantigen-specific B cells from pre-sensitized transplant recipients

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Organ transplantation is a lifesaving procedure, with 50,000 transplants happening every year in the United States. However, many patients harbor antibodies and B cells directed against allogeneic human leukocyte antigen (HLA) molecules, notably HLA-A2 ...

Multidisciplinary study of the secondary immune response in grandparents re-exposed to chickenpox

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Re-exposure to chickenpox may boost varicella-zoster virus (VZV) immunity in the elderly. This secondary immune response is hypothesized to confer protection against herpes zoster.

Competition of haptens [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
Groups of rabbits were injected with either bovine serum albumin, sheep red cell stroma, or keyhole limpet hemocyanin to which 2,4-dinitrophenyl and/or p-azophenyl arsonate groups had been coupled. Groups of animals received either doubly coupled antigen

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

ANTIBODY‐PRODUCING CELLS: ANALYSIS AND PURIFICATION BY VELOCITY SEDIMENTATION

open access: yesCell Proliferation, 1970
ABSTRACTVelocity sedimentation cell separation is a simple and reproducible method for obtaining highly enriched populations of viable antibody‐producing cells. Using suspensions of spleen cells prepared from mice immunized with sheep erythrocytes, fractions containing up to 2% 19S‐PFC and 25% 7S‐PFC can be obtained.
