Reduced anti-viral IgG repertoire in HIV-exposed but uninfected infants compared to HIV-unexposed infants

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Infants who are HIV exposed but uninfected (iHEU) have higher risk of viral infections compared to infants who are HIV unexposed (iHUU). We explored the effect of intrauterine HIV exposure on the infant antibody repertoire by quantifying plasma ...

Engineered Carbon Dots from a Traditional Herb Pair Orchestrate Concurrent Antioxidant and AP‐1‐Mediated Inflammation to Attenuate Renal Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study integrates two complementary traditional Chinese medicine components as precursors to synthesize bioactive AM‐AS@CDs. Compared with single‐component CDs, these dual‐component CDs exhibit enhanced antioxidant capacity and superior renoprotective effects.

Longitudinal proteome-wide antibody profiling in Marburg virus survivors identifies wing domain immunogen for vaccine design

open access: yesNature Communications
Limited knowledge exists on the quality of polyclonal antibody responses generated following Marburg virus (MARV) infection and its evolution in survivors.

Immunization enhances the natural antibody repertoire

open access: yesEXCLI journal, 2017
The role of immunization in the production of antibodies directed against immunogens is widely appreciated in laboratory animals and in humans. However, the role of immunization in the development of “natural antibodies” has not been investigated. Natural antibodies are those antibodies present without known history of infection or immunization, and ...

Template-Based Assembly of Proteomic Short Reads For De Novo Antibody Sequencing and Repertoire Profiling: Analytical Chemistry

open access: yes, 2022
Antibodies can target a vast molecular diversity of antigens. This is achieved by generating a complementary diversity of antibody sequences through somatic recombination and hypermutation.

The RNA‐Binding Protein PARN Remodeled 3′ UTR Structure Defines Poly(A)‐Loading Sites to Mediate Immunoglobulin Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Class Switch Recombination (CSR) is essential for generating high‐affinity antibody isotypes from IgM during adaptive humoral responses. Despite well‐established roles for various transcription factors, whether CSR is subject to dedicated post‐transcriptional control represents a significant gap in knowledge.

Ferritinophagy Rewires Carnitine‐Dependent Lipid Metabolism to Inhibit PRRSV and IAV Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NCOA4‐mediated ferritinophagy reprograms carnitine metabolism by disrupting Fe‐S cluster biogenesis, thereby establishing an iron‐lipid axis that suppresses various viruses, including PRRSV and IAV. However, viruses counteract this mechanism by degrading NCOA4.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection may elicit neutralizing antibodies targeting epitopes conserved in all viral genotypes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) cross-neutralizing human monoclonal antibodies, directed against conserved epitopes on surface E2 glycoprotein, are central tools for understanding virus-host interplay, and for planning strategies for prevention and ...

Senescent Cell Derived Artificial Vesicle‐Based Senolytic Sonovaccine Platform with Augmented Lymph Node Delivery and Antigen Cross‐Presentation Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A senolytic sonovaccine platform (SenoVac) is developed, in which senescent cell‐derived vesicles serve as broad senescent cell antigen reservior. The “2‐step” click chemistry strategy for effective lymph node delivery, and ultrasound‐triggered endosomal escape to boost cross‐presentation, ensures efficient senescent cell clearance and disease ...

Antigen-specific Fab profiling achieves molecular-resolution analysis of human autoantibody repertoires in rheumatoid arthritis

open access: yesNature Communications
The presence of autoantibodies is a defining feature of many autoimmune diseases. The number of unique autoantibody clones is conceivably limited by immune tolerance mechanisms, but unknown due to limitations of the currently applied technologies.
