Midline 1 associated with Fas signaling enhances murine antigen-induced arthritis [PDF]

Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology
IntroductionRheumatoid arthritis is the most common immune-mediated joint disease, whose pathogenesis includes both innate and acquired immune mechanisms. Fas/Fas ligand system is considered to have a dual role in arthritis, inducing apoptotic cell death

Periarticular bone loss in antigen-induced arthritis. [PDF]

Arthritis Rheum, 2013
ObjectiveBone loss in arthritis is a complex process characterized by bone erosions and periarticular and generalized bone loss. The antigen‐induced arthritis (AIA) model is mainly used to study synovitis and joint destruction, including bone erosions; however, periarticular bone loss has been less extensively investigated. The objectives of this study

Regulatory T-Cells Mediate IFN-α-Induced Resistance against Antigen-Induced Arthritis [PDF]

Frontiers in Immunology, 2018
ObjectiveCD4+FoxP3+CD25+ regulatory T-cells (Tregs) are important for preventing tissue destruction. Here, we investigate the role of Tregs for protection against experimental arthritis by IFN-α.MethodsArthritis was triggered by intra-articular injection

Vasoinhibin is Generated and Promotes Inflammation in Mild Antigen-induced Arthritis.

Endocrinology, 2022
AbstractInflammatory arthritis defines a family of diseases influenced by reproductive hormones. Vasoinhibin, a fragment of the hormone prolactin (PRL), has antiangiogenic and proinflammatory properties. We recently showed that vasoinhibin reduces joint inflammation and bone loss in severe antigen-induced arthritis (AIA) by an indirect mechanism ...

Induction of chronic destructive arthritis in SCID mice by arthritogenic fibroblast-like synoviocytes derived from mice with antigen-induced arthritis [PDF]

Arthritis Research & Therapy, 2018
Background Fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLSs) from patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are autonomously activated to maintain inflammation and joint destruction in co-transplantation models.

Time-dependent immune and skeletal alterations following total-body irradiation and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in a murine arthritis model [PDF]

Frontiers in Immunology
IntroductionHematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) after cytotoxic conditioning, such as total-body irradiation (TBI), is widely used to treat hematologic and immune disorders. However, this treatment is associated with long-term systemic effects,

In vitro anti-inflammatory potential and in vivo anti-arthritis activities of Ximenia caffra extract on antigen-induced arthritis in rats [PDF]

Scientific Reports
The current study estimated the in vitro anti-inflammatory activity and in vivo anti-arthritic activities of the aqueous ethanolic extract of Ximenia caffra (X. caffra) seeds extract. It was hypothesized that X.

Antigen‐induced arthritis [PDF]

Arthritis & Rheumatism, 1980
AbstractDuring the acute phase of antigen‐induced arthritis, cartilage was obtained from five different sites within the joint, and chondrocyte activity was assessed by autoradiography of sections labeled with 35S‐sulfate. There was a marked inhibition of chondrocyte proteoglycan synthesis in all weight‐bearing areas; in addition, the complete ...
