Durable Bio‐Based Nanocomposite Coating on Urinary Catheters Prevents Early‐Stage CAUTI‐Associated Pathogenicity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A stable bio‐based nanocomposite coating for urinary catheters is developed using a simple, environmentally‐friendly sonochemical process. The coating, integrating antimicrobial, antibiofilm, and antioxidant properties, effectively tackled multiple early‐stage pathogenic factors associated with catheter‐associated urinary tract infections.

Comparison of Total Antioxidant Capacity of Serum in Type 2 Diabetic Patients and Healthy Individuals

open access: yesMajallah-i Dānishgāh-i ’Ulūm-i Pizishkī-i Shahīd Ṣadūqī Yazd, 2014
Introduction: All the non-enzymatic materials in serum that have antioxidant properties are called antioxidant capacity. These materials protect the body against damage from free radicals.

Investigating the Potential for Label‐Free Detection of Cell Apoptosis through Terahertz Nano‐Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a label‐free optical method to monitor cells using a terahertz metasurface‐based biosensing platform. The obtained terahertz signal change for the cell‐contained nanoslots before and after external stimulus is analyzed in terms of transmittance and frequency shift, dynamically representing the cell apoptosis process.

Phenolic and flavonoid contents of mandarin (Citrus reticulata Blanco) fruit tissues and their antioxidant capacity as evaluated by DPPH and ABTS methods

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2018
The total phenolic and flavonoid contents in the fruit tissues (peels, pulp residues, seeds, and juices) of 19 citrus genotypes belonged to Citrus reticulata Blanco were evaluated and their antioxidant capacity was tested by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl
