Exercise redox biochemistry:conceptual, methodological and technical recommendations [PDF]
Exercise redox biochemistry is of considerable interest owing to its translational value in health and disease. However, unaddressed conceptual, methodological and technical issues complicate attempts to unravel how exercise alters redox homeostasis in ...

The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Effects of Aerobic Exercise Training, Pumpkin Seed Oil and Chickpea Supplementation on Gene Expression of Antioxidant Enzymes in the Liver and Muscle Tissues of Male Rats [PDF]
Introduction: There is ample evidence regarding the protective effects of antioxidant vitamins and minerals against oxidative stress. The discovery of zinc's protective role in countering free-radical formation and oxidative stress has instigated ...

Molecular biomarkers and toxic consequences of impact by organic pollution in aquatic organisms [PDF]
Organic contaminants are readily bioaccumulated by aquatic organisms. Exposure to and toxic effects of contaminants can be measured in terms of the biochemical responses of the organisms (i.e. molecular biomarkers).

14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Emulsifier and antioxidant properties of by-products obtained by enzymatic degumming of soybean oil [PDF]
The enzymes used in degumming, called phospholipases, specifically act on phospholipids without degrading the oil itself. Degumming using a phospholipase C enzyme allows to meet all market specifications while it increases the oil yield.
