Cell Membrane Vesicle Camouflaged Artificial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Artificial cells camouflaged with a cell membrane vesicle coating are able to assemble into synthetic aggregates that exhibit rudimentary communication capabilities. Additionally, when these artificial cells are equipped with antioxidant capabilities, they are able to protect the intracellular homeostasis in HepG2 cells present in semi‐synthetic ...

Differential responses to salt-induced oxidative stress in three phylogenetically related plant species: Arabidopsis thaliana (glycophyte), Thellungiella salsuginea and Cakile maritima (halophytes). Involvement of ROS and NO in the control of K+/Na+ homeostasis

open access: yesAIMS Biophysics, 2016
Salinity, which is usually associated with a nitro-oxidative stress component, is one of the major environmental factors limiting plant growth and development. Plants have thus developed specific ways of dealing with this problem.

Biological Value of Centaurea damascena: Minireview [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of basic and applied Research in Biomedicine, 2019, 5(2): 99-106, 2019
The family Asteraceae include large number of Centaurea species which have been applied in folk medicine. One of the family Asteraceae members is the Centaurea damascena which authentically been tested for its antibacterial activity. The aim of the study was to discuss antibacterial activities of essential oil composition and methanolic extract of the ...

Oxidative stress in bone remodeling: role of antioxidants.

open access: yesCLINICAL CASES IN MINERAL AND BONE METABOLISM, 2017
ROS are highly reactive molecules which consist of a number of diverse chemical species, including radical and non-radical oxygen species. Oxidative stress occurs as a result of an overproduction of ROS not balanced by an adequate level of antioxidants ...

H2O2‐Generating Advanced Nanomaterials for Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
H2O2‐generating nanoplatforms can exploit tumor redox imbalance for O2 and toxic reactive oxygen species generation, leading to hypoxia reversal, and apoptosis of cancer cells, respectively. This review highlights the mechanisms of these nanoplatforms, including exogenous H₂O₂ delivery, endogenous amplification, and metal peroxides, which leads to ...

Tannase enhances the anti-inflammatory effect of grape pomace in Caco-2 cells treated with IL-1β

open access: yesJournal of Functional Foods, 2017
Grape pomace (GP) is rich in polymeric polyphenolics and glycosides which have lower bioefficacy than monomeric and aglycone counterparts. The aim of this study was to determine whether tannin acyl hydrolase [tannase (TNS)] can improve the antioxidant ...

In August 2013, the French pharmacopoeia was enriched with 43 plants used in French overseas territories, including 15 proposed by APLAMEDAROM association of Guadeloupe. However, for most of them, no data on the chemical composition, qualitatively and quantitatively is available in the literature for these specimens; this is an issue to their ...

Biomimetic Co‐delivery of Lenvatinib and FePt Nanoparticles for Enhanced Ferroptosis/Apoptosis Treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel HCC treatment using poly lactic‐co‐glycolic acid (PLGA) nanoparticles encased in HCC cell membranes to co‐deliver Lenvatinib and FePt nanoparticles. This approach improves treatment efficacy by enhancing ferroptosis and apoptosis.
