Dual Functions of Dietary Rubber Seed Oil Supplementation: Enriching N‐3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids and Enhancing Antioxidant Capacity in Pekin Ducks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary RSO supplementation improved growth performance, simultaneously enriched n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFA), and enhanced antioxidant capacity in Pekin ducks, which suggested that RSO has the potential to be a novel n‐3 PUFA source and an antioxidant for Pekin ducks to generate animal functional foods.

Serum apolipoprotein A1 and haptoglobin, in patients with suspected drug-induced liver injury (DILI) as biomarkers of recovery. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
There is a clear need for better biomarkers of drug-induced-liver-injury (DILI).We aimed to evaluate the possible prognostic value of ActiTest and FibroTest proteins apoliprotein-A1, haptoglobin and alpha-2-macroglobulin, in patients with DILI.We ...

Exploring the Roles of Tuna‐Associated Acinetobacter sp. YFT067: Implications for Host Health and Metabolism

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study firstly isolated a tuna‐derived gut probiotic Acinetobacter seifertii YFT067. Dietary administration of YFT067 played significant roles in promoting growth performance, SCFAs production, lipid absorption, and metabolism of the host, indicating YFT067 as a promising probiotic candidate for enhancing tuna aquaculture productivity through ...

Serum Apolipoprotein B and A1 Concentrations Predict Late-Onset Posttransplant Diabetes Mellitus in Prevalent Adult Kidney Transplant Recipients

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Kidney Health and Disease, 2019
Background: Glucose metabolism links closely to cholesterol metabolism. Posttransplant diabetes mellitus (PTDM) adversely affects posttransplant outcomes, but its risk factors in relation to cholesterol metabolism have not been fully delineated.

Potential role of apolipoprotein B/A1 ration in obese and non-obese female patients of coronary artery disease

open access: yesAsian Journal of Medical Sciences, 2016
Background: Obesity and hyperlipidemia are considered to be risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Many patients who develop coronary artery disease (CAD) are non obese and have normal lipoprotein cholesterol.

Fetal Heart Rate at 12 Weeks' Gestation and the Risk of Preterm Birth

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objectives To prospectively validate the association between fetal heart rate (FHR) at the 12‐week scan and the risk of preterm birth (PTB), including spontaneous preterm birth (sPTB). Methods This prospective cohort study included 1276 singleton pregnancies undergoing routine first‐trimester screening at 11–13 + 6 weeks' gestation and followed until ...

New in vitro effects of clopidogrel on platelets in hyperlipidemic and healthy subjects

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Hematology, 2010
OBJECTIVE: We aimed to detect novel in vitro effects of clopidogrel on platelets by assessment of the following parameters: malondialdehyde, glutathione, nitrite, aggregation response, and expressions of P-selectin, fibrinogen, apolipoprotein A1 ...

Comparison of apolipoprotein B/A1 ratio, TC/HDL-C, and lipoprotein (a) for predicting outcomes after PCI.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
Background and aimsThe Apo B/A1 ratio is a major factor that predicts future cardiovascular outcomes. However, it is unclear whether the apolipoprotein B (Apo B)/apolipoprotein A1 (Apo A1) is a better predictor of future outcome than the total ...
