Interaction of apolipoprotein(a) with apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1991
Recombinant DNA-derived apolipoprotein(a) was used to demonstrate that the apo(a) moiety of lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) is responsible for the binding of Lp(a) to other apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins (apoB-Lp) including LDL2, a subclass of low density lipoproteins (d = 1.030-1.063 g/ml).

Polyphenol diet and exercise as neuroprotective factors in a Drosophila model of Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Moderate exercise and low‐dose ellagic acid supplementation improved motor performance, learning, and longevity in a transgenic Drosophila model of Alzheimer's disease. Both interventions showed hormetic effects—that is, beneficial at low levels, but detrimental at higher intensities or doses.

Generating golden Syrian hamsters with conditional alleles via zygote microinjection of CRISPR/Cas9

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
We established the first conditional knockout (cKO) model in the golden Syrian hamster by CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated genome editing. Cas9 protein, two sgRNAs, and a donor plasmid carrying loxP‐flanked exon 2 of the ApoF gene were microinjected into one‐cell embryos. The floxed allele was efficiently generated (up to 27%) and transmitted through the germline.

Early changes in plasma lipoprotein structure and biosynthesis in cholesterol-fed rabbits

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1973
Plasma lipoproteins of d < 1.063 g/ml from rabbits fed a diet containing 1% cholesterol for 4 days showed changes in concentration and rates of flotation as determined by analytical ultracentrifugation.

Chronic high‐fat diet induces multi‐organ dysfunction and metabolic homeostasis disruption in Macaca fascicularis

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
An 18‐month HFD successfully established a translational Macaca fascicularis model replicating key metabolic disorders (MASH, diabetes, cardiac hypertrophy). MASH was determined by liver biopsy histology, the presence steatosis, inflammatory infiltration, hepatocytic ballooning, and fibrosis were considered as MASH; diabetes was diagnosed according to ...

Mass Spectrometric Studies of Apolipoprotein Proteoforms and Their Role in Lipid Metabolism and Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesProteomes, 2017
Apolipoproteins function as structural components of lipoprotein particles, cofactors for enzymes, and ligands for cell-surface receptors. Most of the apoliporoteins exhibit proteoforms, arising from single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and post ...
