Synthesis of Polyurethane from Apricot Kernel Oil and Characterization

NATURENGS MTU Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences Malatya Turgut Ozal University, 2023
In the study, natural origin polyol was obtained from apricot kernel oil. The obtained polyol was used in the synthesis of polyurethane, which is an industrially important polymer. Obtaining polyol from apricot kernel oil was firstly epoxidized with a two-step process and then converted to the desired polyol structure by oxirane ring opening.

Apricot Kernel Oil Ameliorates Cyclophosphamide‐Associated Immunosuppression in Rats

Lipids, 2016
AbstractThe effects of dietary apricot kernel oil (AKO), which contains high levels of oleic and linoleic acids and lower levels of α‐tocopherol, were evaluated in a rat model of cyclophosphamide‐induced immunosuppression. Rats had intraperitoneal injection with cyclophosphamide to induce immunosuppression and were then infused with AKO or normal ...

Apricot kernel oil: Characterization, chemical composition and utilization in some baked products

Food Chemistry, 1986
Abstract Apricot kernel oil was extracted, characterized and evaluated for use in preparing biscuits and cake. The hexane-extracted oil fraction has a light yellow colour and is free from toxic material (hydrocyanic acid). The major fatty acids were oleic, linoleic and palmitic. Chloroform-methanol extracts consisted mainly of neutral lipids in which

Modification of Apricot Kernel Oil by Lipase Catalyzed Ester Interchange

Biocatalysis, 1994
In this study, apricot kernel oil was extracted from die kernel of apricot fruits and its physico chemical properties were studied. In addition apricot kernel oil was reacted with stearic and palmitic acid in hexane in the presence immobilized porcine pancreatic lipase to give products enriched with these fatty acids.

Antimicrobial activity of β-CD finished and apricot kernel oil applied fabrics

Fibers and Polymers, 2014
β-CD, which is composed of glucopyranose, is nontoxic and environmentally friendly. In addition, β-CD has a troidal shape and hydrophobic internal cavity that can form a host-guest complex with hydrophobic materials. Apricot kernel oil (AKO) is used as a food that it contains amygdalin and exhibits high antimicrobial activity compared to many other ...

Experimental Study on Storage and Oxidation Stability of Bitter Apricot Kernel Oil Biodiesel

Energy & Fuels, 2016
Worldwide biodiesel is accepted as a substitute for mineral diesel for its almost similar physical and chemical properties. Because biodiesel is produced from vegetable oil, animal fat, or waste frying oil and is composed of a combination of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, this makes it prone to oxidation with time. As a result of the oxidation,

Roasting‐Related Changes in Oxidative Stability and Antioxidant Capacity of Apricot Kernel Oil

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 2009
AbstractApricot kernels were roasted for various lengths of time (0–30 min) at 180 °C and changes in the oxidative stability, antioxidant capacity, color, as well as the level of tocopherols and fatty acids of the apricot kernel oil (AKO) were monitored.

Extraction Parameters and Analysis of Apricot Kernel Oil

2019
Apricot kernel is an alternative raw material for fixed oil, which is used in food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. It can be utilized I in place of almond oil because of similarities in fatty acid compositions. Turkey has the largest potential in producing apricot among all other countries in the world.
