Interaction of solid organic acids with carbon nanotube field effect transistors [PDF]

open access: yesChem. Phys. Lett. 430 (2006) 75, 2007
A series of solid organic acids were used to p-dope carbon nanotubes. The extent of doping is shown to be dependent on the pKa value of the acids. Highly fluorinated carboxylic acids and sulfonic acids are very effective in shifting the threshold voltage and making carbon nanotube field effect transistors to be more p-type devices.

n-3系脂肪散を強化した食事療法が有効と考えられた肺気腫の一例 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
An effective treatment for the advanced stages of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has not been established yet. We report our recent experience of one patient with pulmonary emphysema treated by dietary supplementation of n-3 fatty acid for ...

Polyunsaturated fatty acids and inflammation

open access: yesOléagineux, Corps gras, Lipides, 2004
The n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid arachidonic acid gives rise to the eicosanoid family of inflammatory mediators (prostaglandins, leukotrienes and related metabolites) and through these regulates the activities of inflammatory cells, the production of ...

Arachidonic Acid Production by Fungi [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology, 1991
After preliminary screening, Mortierella alpina and Mortierella elongata were compared with respect to arachidonic acid content. M. alpina ATCC 16266 produced 2.1 g of arachidonic acid per liter in media containing 10% glucose while the highest percentage of ...

Effects of a low birthweight infant formula containing human milk levels of docosahexaenoic and arachidonic acids.

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition - JPGN, 1995
Long-chain (LC) polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) (LCP) are considered conditionally essential nutrients for low birth weight infants (LBWI). Therefore, enrichment of LBWI formulae with metabolites both linoleic (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic (omega-3 ...

Mechanism of NaCl transport-stimulated prostaglandin formation in MDCK cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Recently we have found that stimulation of NaCl transport in high-resistance MDCK cells enhances their prostaglandin formation. In the present study, we investigated the mechanisms by which prostaglandin formation could be linked to the ion transport in ...

Effect of dietary linoleic, alpha-linolenic and arachidonic acids on lipid metabolism, tissue fatty acid composition and eicosanoid production in rats.

open access: yesJournal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology, 1996
Rats were fed semipurified diets containing 10% fat with a constant polyunsaturated/monounsaturated/saturated fatty acid ratio of 1:1:1. This was performed by mixing vegetable oils.

Intimal smooth muscle cells are a source but not a sensor of anti-inflammatory CYP450 derived oxylipins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Vascular pathologies are associated with changes in the presence and expression of morphologically distinct vascular smooth muscle cells. In particular, in complex human vascular lesions and models of disease in pigs and rodents, an intimal smooth muscle

Cheek cell phospholipids in human infants: a marker of docosahexaenoic and arachidonic acids in the diet, plasma, and red blood cells.

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2000
BACKGROUND Assessment of essential fatty acid status requires collection of blood or adipose tissue samples. However, these invasive techniques cannot always be used in studies involving infants, young children, or subjects from whom it is difficult to ...

Basal and inducible anti-inflammatory epoxygenase activity in endothelial cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The roles of CYP lipid-metabolizing pathways in endothelial cells are poorly understood. Human endothelial cells expressed CYP2J2 and soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) mRNA and protein.
