PROTAC‑Mediated HMGCR Depletion Reprograms Lipid Metabolism in Breast Cancer to Potentiate Photoimmunotherapy via Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a study that identifies HMGCR as a novel target in TNBC and develops a light‐gated PROTAC nanomedicine. Upon irradiation, this agent selectively degrades HMGCR, reprogramming lipid metabolism to induce ferroptosis and potent antitumor immunity, thereby significantly enhancing photoimmunotherapy efficacy.

Effect Differences of Omega‐3 Fatty Acids From Plant Oil and Fish Oil on Human Health

open access: yesAgriFood: Journal of Agricultural Products for Food, EarlyView.
Omega‐3 fatty acids in plant oil is no less than fish oil on human health. ALA in plant oil takes directly healthy effects without conversion to DHA and EPA. Plant oil can be substitutes for fish oil to support partial ω‐3 fatty acids. For people who cannot afford fish oil, plant oil is also good for public health.

Macrophage activation by lipopolysaccharide, interferon-γ and interleukin-4: effect of fatty acid metabolism

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 1995
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of interferon-γ and -β (IFN-γ, -β), interleukin-4 and -10 (IL-4, -10) and Hpopolysaccharide (LPS) on the metabolism and composition of phospholipid fatty acids in macrophages. Murine J774.2 macrophages

D-4F-mediated reduction in metabolites of arachidonic and linoleic acids in the small intestine is associated with decreased inflammation in low-density lipoprotein receptor-null mice

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2012
To test the hypothesis that intestine is a major site of action for D-4F, LDLR−/− mice were fed a Western diet (WD) and administered the peptide subcutaneously (SQ) or orally.

Dual Functions of Dietary Rubber Seed Oil Supplementation: Enriching N‐3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids and Enhancing Antioxidant Capacity in Pekin Ducks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary RSO supplementation improved growth performance, simultaneously enriched n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFA), and enhanced antioxidant capacity in Pekin ducks, which suggested that RSO has the potential to be a novel n‐3 PUFA source and an antioxidant for Pekin ducks to generate animal functional foods.

Changes of fatty acid aerosol hygroscopicity induced by ozonolysis under humid conditions [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2008
Unsaturated fatty acids are important constituents of the organic fraction of atmospheric aerosols originating from biogenic or combustion sources. Oxidative processing of these may change their interaction with water and thus affect their effect on ...

Peroxisome Proliferators Attenuate Free Arachidonic Acid Pool in the Kidney Through Inducing Lysophospholipid Acyltransferases

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2009
Attenuating effects of peroxisome proliferators on the concentration of free arachidonic acid by inducing 1-acyl-2-lysophospholipid acyltransferases in the kidney were studied.

Fasting and Refeeding Mediated Phospholipid Remodeling Plays an Important Role in Improving Meat Quality of Aged Laying Hens

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explored fasting‐induced physiological remodeling effects on meat quality in aged laying hens. Fasting for 15 days (F15) significantly reduced abdominal fat, intermuscular fat width, subcutaneous fat thickness, and liver index versus pre‐fasting (F0) (p < 0.05), which recovered post‐refeeding.

Free fatty acid release from endothelial cells.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1988
Cultured bovine aortic endothelial cells that have been previously enriched with fatty acid are able to release free fatty acid (FFA) into the extracellular fluid.
