Encapsulation of alpha arbutin, a depigmenting agent, in nanosized ethosomes: Invitro and invivo human studies

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Alpha arbutin is a skin-whitening agent in cosmetics. Structurally, it is 4-hydroxyphenyl-α-glucopyranoside. Ethosomes encourage the formation of lamellar-shaped vesicles with improved solubility and entrapment of whitening agents.

Kytococcus aerolatus sp. nov., isolated from indoor air in a room colonized with moulds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A Gram-positive, coccoid bacterial isolate (02-St-019/1(T)), forming beige pigmented colonies was obtained from an indoor air sample. Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity studies it was determined that this isolate 02-St-019/1(T) belonged to the ...

Integrated Analysis Reveals Functional Ingredients Biosynthesis and Regulatory Mechanisms in Elaeagnus mollis Diels Leaf

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
The content of functional ingredient fluctuated in E. mollis leaf. The functional ingredients biosynthesis pathways were revealed. EmNAC014 and EmMYB15 played key roles in functional ingredients biosynthesis. ABSTRACT Elaeagnus mollis Diels is a newly developed woody oil crop, and the biosynthesis and regulatory mechanism underlying functional and ...

Action of tyrosinase on alpha and beta-arbutin: A kinetic study. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
The known derivatives from hydroquinone, α and β-arbutin, are used as depigmenting agents. In this work, we demonstrate that the oxy form of tyrosinase (oxytyrosinase) hydroxylates α and β-arbutin in ortho position of the phenolic hydroxyl group, giving ...

Flow Cytometry Role in Unlocking New Frontiers for Nanomedicine Applications of Plant‐Derived Vesicles

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanoscale membrane‐bound vesicles released by any cell type under both physiological and pathological conditions. They carry a wide array of bioactive molecules, including microRNAs (miRNAs), lipids, proteins and other small biomolecules, and therefore play a key role in intercellular communication by ...

Enhanced Whitening Effect of the Formulations via Inhibition of Tyrosinase Activity by Combination of 4‐n‐Butylresorcinol, Licochalcone A and Glabridin at an Optimal Ratio

open access: yesSkin Research and Technology, Volume 32, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Companies launch tons of skin‐whitening products to cater to the consumer market. Though skin‐whitening cosmeceuticals are continuously developing, most cosmeceuticals are used alone, there is very little academic research conducting investigations into the effect of skin‐whitening cosmeceutical combinations. Objective In this study,
